I am planning a trip in Sept with my 7 year old daughter. With the discounts advertised I have more choices than usual and I am struggling to decide. Pondering the following AoA, Coronado, Carib Beach, Saratoga or Old Key. I would love one that does not share a bus with several resorts. If I could afford to be on the monorail I would but that is not in the cards this trip. I also want one with a pool that is GREAT for kids. Do any of these have any type of view of MK? What non monorail resorts might? TIA!!!

No views from these hotels. You'd need to stay at one of the deluxe monorail resorts for an MK view. These are too far away. Google the WDW park map.
Our fav moderate is POR.

If I had a 7 year old I would seriously consider one of the Value resorts. Is there any chance of a Royal Room at POR? IMO that would be " ideal" for any little princess!

The only one of these I have been to is Coronado Springs. I have a 6 yr. old daughter and she liked the pool there. Depending on where your room is the walk could be a little far to the main dig site pool. Each area does have a smaller quiet pool..AoA does look really fun and they have the Nemo pool. My daughter wants to stay there. They don't have a slide at the value resorts if that matters..hope you have a fun trip wherever you choose!

The only one we've stayed at from your choices is CBR and we loved it. It has 4 or 5 internal bus stops, but doesn't share with any other resort. We loved the transportation as CBR is centrally located and it didn't take more than about 10 minutes to get to any theme park, water park, or DTD. It is a large, spread out resort, but the pool was great (and has since been redone since our stay) and the food court was good with alot of variety. We liked it alot and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. With all of that said, have you looked at the WL? It's not a monorail resort, but it's an awesome place to stay without the hefty price tag like that of the monorail resorts and is close to MK via boat. Good luck deciding, although I'm sure you will have a great trip no matter which resort you choose :wizard:.

DD and i stayed at CBR for a girls only trip when she was 5. We loved it there. The busses were awesome and we got to see some of epcots fireworks at night. But having said that she would have preferred a value resort. If you can get AoA i would book that. Im so excited to stay there next month. AoA doesnt share busses and they have covered bus stops. From what i understand it hasnt been very crowded there yet, but 2 sections are open at this time.

Since there are only 2 of you, I think any of the mods would work just fine for you. I don't think you would have any luck with a LM room at AOA (I doubt there's any availability) and I'm not sure that you would want a suite or villa just for the 2 of you.

As a PP has said, only monorail resorts have a view of MK. POR, CBR and CSR all have great kid friendly pools and play areas.

The value resorts a huge hit with children. The giant icons are a big hit. The Little Mermaid Buildings of the Art of Animation Resort would be awesome. As far as swimming pools go... The moderate resorts all have slides on the pools.

I'm kinda partial to CSR, while just slightly ahead of POR.

Coronado to me is the best bang for your buck, IMHO.

From an awesome main POOL, to the beautiful DECOR,& GROUNDS, to the TS Restaurant & awesome PEPPER MARKET CS

Oooh DiD I mention the comfy new QUEEN BEDS , & the absolute best BUS SYSTEM on property too.

Good luck in whichever you choose...Truly you can't go wrong..:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for the great advice. I had reserved a bounceback offer so I called to see what was more economical as it seemed the web was giving me cheaper prices than what i was quoted with the bounceback. Did not realize the bounceback rate was including the dining plan so we went with a Pirate room at Caribbean Beach. Those were the only rooms they offered and I think my 7 year old will like it, even though she is a girl. Now I need to work on dining reservations, everything is booked given we are 48 days from our trip!

now you say CBR - pirate room. of all your choices - CBR is the only one with double (full) beds instead of queen(s). Plus the pirate rooms are further from the food court/restaurant than any of the others.

both SSR and OKW are DVC resorts. So they have a kitchennett in the studio - now if you walking about a 1-bedroom definitely go with it.

okw has 2 queen beds, SSR has queen bed plus full sleeper sofa.

all of these resorts only share with themselves. most have 5 stops. Now AoA only has one - what are you considering there a room or a suite?

the pools are both the DVC resorts were designed for kids. and they both have multiple pools.

here are pictures of all the resorts

now at both OKW and SSR you will be walking - but still less than you would be at the CBR.

You will enjoy this resort and the pirate rooms! We stayed in them last May and DD 4 yrs loved the pirate ship beds and all the decor ! Resort has a great pool area as well!

We've stayed at three of the resorts you mentioned and I would have voted for CBR. The zero entry pool, the bucket dumping play area at the pool, and the pretty, lush surroundings make it a really nice place to stay. Have fun!
