We just won an auction for a week in a 2 bedroom at Orange Lake.

HOW IS IT?

Does it have a dishwasher/washer/dryer in the condo?

I it clean?

How is the drive to WDW?

What should we request?

How many floor is it? All one building?

Please I need all the info I can get.

Thanks

I know its a HUGE resort..you need to drive to get to some parts. Evidently some of their older units are not as plush as the newer ones and some dont like them but some do. Its a bit further out on 192 but it does have a Publix right next door which is convenient for food

You should have a full kitchen with all appliances etc. I think some of the older units do not have hot tubs.

Overall the resort gets pretty good reviews although some dont like the hugeness of the place.

/We were there for a week in early December. In an older unit. Which was in great condition. I don't think you can go wrong...have a good trip :smooth:

I can help you with some of your questions. We stayed in a 2bdrm last Feb. We loved it! In fact we are trying to go back this feb. We stayed at 2 other timeshares since and this one is the best. We stayed in North Village. I've heard that the tennis village is nice, too. It is a big resort. They have a shuttle bus to take you around. The kids loved it. I don't know if you have kids but the pools are great. Our timeshare had 2 bdrm, 2 bath, w/d, dishwasher, a screened in patio, vcr, 2 T.V.'s, full kitchen, nice decor and a jucuzzi in the master suite. It was in excelleeent condition and spotless. It's 5 miles from DW. We went in Feb. so there wasn't a lot of traffic. There is an indoor playground and outdoor playground. Had a pizza restaurant, ice cream shop a little store, a little room set up like a movie theatre were they show movies everyday on site. Also, they had a little beach. I think they rented water crafts. They had basketball, tennis courts. and golf courses. Go to there web site. It will give you alot of info. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I'll be happy to answer.
Oh ya, I forgot, Have FUN!

jessisue...

What building do you recommend we ask for? My husband has some mobility problems.

We would like to be near a pool if at all possible as well as the main building.

How long did it take to drive to WDW in the am?

What sizes were the beds?

We are just one couple so no need to worry about kids.

Any advice on this is really appreciated.

Thanks

The tennis villas are close to a pool. I called like 2 days before we left and requested tennis but they didn't have any so we got north. It was a liitle bit further away but we still enjoyed it. I don't think you can call any earlier but they will try to accomdate you. The beds in our villa were a kingsize and 2 queens in the other. It took us around 25 minutes from walking out the door to walking to the tram. But remember we had 3 kids under the age of 5. So we had carseats to buckle, strollers to tend to, etc. They were in the progress of builing another set of villas. I think it was going to be called East. Not sure. Don't know if they had a pool, but it was far away from the others. I don't know when you are leaving but you can call and ask them to you a little paper they put out about their offerings. They always have something scheduled for kids as well as adults. Let me know if there is anything I can do. You are like me, you like to know what you are getting in to before. Glad to help. It makes the trip much more relaxed and enjoyable.

What website? I Have been trying to get more info on orange lakes but I cannot get a site to pull up. I think it all sounds like the ticket for us. Thanks!:D

The web site is www.orangelake.com

Call up and ask for a copy of the orange lake bulletain.

This explains everything about the place and includes a mini map.

We will be arriving there this weekend and will be staying in a 2 bedroom ourselves, I'm very excited about all of the good reviews I've read about the place! Just to let you know I did call and request a copy of the orange lake bulletin and they told me that they no longer send them out - I guess they were getting too many requests and put a stop to it, just wanted to let you know.

OOPS! I guess I let too many people know about this!! Oh well, you will get a newsflyer when you stay on site. Thanks for the heads up!

My parents will be staying there in May through RCI (we'll be staying onsite with our DVC points). My dad said that the person at RCI told him that the resort was so exclusive and so many people wanted to stay there that you could only trade out for it every three years. So hopefully that means the place is awesome!

I will let you know everything I can about it when we return! I am so excited! We haven't even told the kids yet, we will be "surprising" them when they get home from school today - I have had to keep this secret for 10 months!

PhotoBearSam, did you win the auction through skyauction? How much did you get it for? It looks like a beautiful resort, I'm very jealous!

We are here right now in our 2 bedroom suite and WE LOVE IT! I think you and your husband will be very pleased. We are in the West Village in an older unit which is in great condition. We have a full kitchen (it does have a dishwasher), washer & dryer, and one bedroom has a king size bed with bathroom, the second bedroom has two queen size beds with bathroom, their are TV's in each room as well as a TV and VCR in living room. They are like condos so there are no floors, you have your own driveway so it is very convenient. We have enjoyed all of the activities here in the last two days, there is so much to do right here we haven't even been to the parks yet! I will definetly return - I hope your stay is as enjoyable for you:D

I have a 3 year old, 10 year old and a thirteen year old. So would you recommend the tennis section? They'll want to be close to the family attractions and pools. Thanks

We did win on Skyauction...

Sounds great. I hope our honeymoon is great...By these reviews, it will.

When you call to request your villa section request the one next to the pool area that has the slide. I think the tennis villas pool section does not have as many pool variations for kids as the pool section with the slide does. Don't get me wrong, the tennis villa pool section is very nice too. I can't remember what the villas are called where the slide is at. It might be North village??
That pool section is awesome for kids of all ages. They have a zero entry, a basketball goal in part of the pool, volleyball net in another part, a slide, & a little waterfall. There is a mushroom pool for little ones and interactive fountains like they have at Epcot. What ever section you stay in the shuttle can bring you to all the pools. Depending on how many are running will depend on how long you have to wait for it. You also can use your own car or walk. Check out all the pools. They are great.
Hope this helps.

I'm looking forward to Orange Lakes. This is our third timeshare rental in the past three years. We were at the HGVC last year and the Vistana Resort the year before. We'll see how it goes. Thanks again!!

I posted in detail of our trip in April-May 2002. Don't forget there are plenty of activities and the big plus...... GOLF. I played once in about 3.5 hours at the end of the day and sprinted around the 9 hole course in 95 degree weather with 3-4 balls in 1 hour. We were in the North Village on the 9 hole course. I drove everywhere (pools....). It was quite simple and we loved it.

The pool with the slide and the "kids pool" is in the North Village as jessiesue mentioned. We were in the West Village near the main clubhouse and tennis courts and the pools over there were nice too, we did drive down to the North Village pools for our last day but the kids said it wasn't as warm as the other pools. Have a great time - we sure did:D
