Just wanted to request prayers for my DD14
....she is scheduled for open heart surgery Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. Also, if you have any to spare, send them my way so I won't suffer a mental breakdown before and during!
Thanks ahead of time!

Hi Everyone!
We just got home from Columbus this evening. Caleigh was released from the hospital yesterday, but we decided to stay the night and let her rest before our 2 hr. drive home.
The surgery was a huge success! She went into the OR at 7:40 a.m. and the surgeon came out to tell us how it went at 12:15 p.m.!!!
He was able to put an adult homograft pulmonary valve in and she was already off the ventilator when he came to talk to us! He told us we would be able to see her in about 1/2 hr.
Went into CICU about 45 min. later and she was awake and talking! Not only that, she was laughing! She was joking back and forth with her nurses, I almost fainted! Far from the scene I walked into when she had her first open heart at 7 months old! Boy, have they ever come a long way since then!!!
Anyway, she was awake 28 hrs. after her surgery....yep, that's right, 28 HOURS!!!!!! Don't know if she had a reaction to her anesthesia or what, but that kid talked for almost 26 hrs. straight!! LOL! I was able to stay in CICU with her and all she wanted to do was talk....just about wore me out!
Around 3 p.m. on Tuesday they got her out of bed and she got sick twice. Gave her Zofran which did nothing to help her nausea and finally gave her Phenergan which actually knocked her out. By this time, she was crying that she was soooo exhausted! So hard to see!
Anyway, she was transferred to a regular room around 7 p.m. Tuesday night. She had a horrible day Tuesday, but slept most of the night. She woke up Wednesday (I'm still working on no sleep to this point
) and she was bright eyed and ready to go! She got out of bed, walked the halls, and ate for the first time since Sunday evening. Got a little grumpy in the afternoon, but she told me it was because she had some pain hit her all at once.
Cardiologist came in yesterday to discharge her, and told us that her heart was perfect now. He said her right ventricle has already started getting smaller!!
He also told her she could go back to school next week!!! UUGGHH...wish he woulda talked to me before he did that! Now, she's bound and determined to go back next week! However, he agreed she should only go for half days next week and then back on regular schedule week after.
So, now we're home, she's in her own bed sleeping peacefully, and I'm thanking the Lord for my baby! I also want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers! I know without them, I would have never made it through this ordeal!!!!
Thanks again, and may God bless each and every one of you!!!!
