I tried to look through the new pre-order thread but I couldn't find the answers to my questions. I did receive the "must sees" email and found the pre-order link at the bottom.

1. If I pre-order today, my 30 days doesn't start until I get back and register my cards. Right?
2. Can I wait to see how many pictures we have taken at the parks, pre-order as soon as I get home, and then register my cards?
3. Can I cancel the pre-order if I'm not happy with the picture quality?
4. Does my credit card get charged now or when I actually complete the order after I get home?

TIA for the clarification!

There is a whole thread going about this, but to sum it up for you, this is what we know now:

1. If I pre-order today, my 30 days doesn't start until I get back and register my cards. Right? Correct. Your 30 days to preview and edit does not begin until you register your cards on the photopass site. If you got a special photopass card in with your travel documents, DO NOT REGISTER that card until you get back as we aren't sure if registering it before you leave starts the clock for any pictures you put on that card.
2. Can I wait to see how many pictures we have taken at the parks, pre-order as soon as I get home, and then register my cards? No. From what others are reporting, the pre-order option they are giving you from that email expires the day before your vacation starts. We think this is because some guests were "pre-ordering" AFTER they came home from their trips which defeats the purpose of "pre-ordering". Disney closed that loophole.
3. Can I cancel the pre-order if I'm not happy with the picture quality? Yes. After you get home if you decide that you don't want the CD afterall, you can contact photopass and request a refund. But, you MUST make sure that your pre-order code is not used. I'm guessing (although I'm not sure how that happened; maybe their code got stolen :confused3) people tried to get a refund and use their codes at the same time.
4. Does my credit card get charged now or when I actually complete the order after I get home? Your credit card will be charged now and if you change your mind later, they will refund your money.

I hope this helps.

I just had one thing to add to number 1.

Yes, your 30 days starts when you register your photopass card online, but they will let you extend it 10 days if you are not able to get them done in that time. Just make sure that you call before it expires. To call for extention you must be only a few days from deadline. I was able to extend mine several 10 day segments until I was done with my photo book.

Can I have a link to where you preorder? I want to do this as well but this is something new since the last time we were there. Isn't there also a way to get a photo session at a resort?

There is a now a charge to get an extension - that's pretty recent as well. There are 2 different prices for 2 different lengths, I believe.

And also although the 30 day window is correct as described above, there are actually TWO 30 day windows. Your photos taken in the park start to expire on a 30 day clock as well -- so you only have 30 days from the date the first photo was taken to register your cards or else you risk disappearing photos. Then after that, you get 30 days to do your editing before ordering.

I thought pre-order was done unless you were of the privileged few that Disney decided to let pre-order, of witch I am no one.

There is no more link to pre-order -- you can only do it if you get an e-mail from Disney with a personalized link in it. There is another very long thread about this here - "anyone made that the pre-order PP is going away" or something like that.

Thanks for the info! We ordered Photopass on our honeymoon in 06 but when we went in 07 we were less than thrilled with the quality and we didn't order. To save $50 I'll probably pre-order and then just cancel if I don't like the pics.

the offer is currently available to anyone staying on site. in various ways.

the definitive guide to photopass will be updated with as much information as possible by night's end.
