I posted this on the countdown board by accident, so I'm posting here as well (it's late, I'm sleepy, I clicked the wrong forum the first time)...

I went to WDW 3 times as a kid - 6, 12 & 18. I was a summer CP intern, hated it (was homesick) and couldn't wait to get home, then honeymooned there the very next summer . Went back 2 years later and then waited 10 years to take a return trip. That's when the addiction went seriously downhill.

We went June 06, Dec 06, April 08. When I begged DH for the April 08 trip I PROMISED I wouldn't even TALK about another trip until 2010...and now I have talked him in to booking Dec 08 because of the great rate .

Will someone please tell me I'm not crazy! DH keeps saying how there are so many other places to go and let the kids experience. I keep saying we have to go lots now while the kids are little because they will not want to go when they are older.

All my friends think I am certifiably nuts! Should I cancel Dec and at least wait until Apr 09? Please help a fellow addict!

I have the same problem with my DH and my grown Disney kids. We have been so many times and I keep booking more trips. This time I promised I would skip a year since we have been to WDW 7 times since Jan. 2007 alone. I will be there OCT 11-19 and promised I will skip 2009. It is going to be very hard. I think many of us on the Disboards are all the same. We enjoy disney and like planning and experiencing all things Disney. So you are not alone and you are not crazy. Enjoy your time in Disney!!! I know I will!!:yay:

7 times in 20 months! I'll have to tell DH he is lucky - it could be worse. It always makes me feel better to come to the DISboards because it reassures me that I am not the only one on earth that can't seem to get enough. We take a trip and I say, well, that was great, I am good to go for awhile. Then about 90 days later I find myself migrating back to the disboards.

Disney addiction is just fine, but then again I only have a 90 minute drive to Disney and Florida resident prices. :cool1:

LOL!!!!! Fellow addict here. We were there in June for 7 days, then again in for 3 days in Aug. Now we are headed back for 6 days at the end of the month! It's all my fault, my DH agrees to it because he knows how much I enjoy it but if it were up to him we'd be going elsewhere.

90 days later, I was planning on my way home from my last trip, but then again, we can only go about every 3 years. I am trying to sneak a trip in before our next on lol!

You are not crazy! For those that believe in the magic, life does seem sweeter when you can look forward to going to WDW. Eventually, your family will realize the wonderful memories from your visits to these parks, even if it seems like they are starting to forget why you went in the first place...

My family would drive (yes drive, all the way from Chicago) to Disney World every year without fail up until about my senior year of high school... My mom eventually sounded tired of taking the same trip every year, and so did my little brother, but my dad and I were still excited about going to WDW. That wasn't fair, so we had to re-evaluate our plans.

We eventually made a compromise to cut down on the number of days we spent at Disney, and since we were all older and in the working world (but the magic is still inside us all), we have flown and taken longer family trips to different cities around the world each year (beautiful cities like Paris, London, Venice, Barcelona, etc.) instead...

Not surprisingly, our family Disney trips like old-times have not happened...
Traveling around the "real" World Showcase ;) is fantastic, but I am the only one who still takes trips to Disney each year too (with my own money).

FINALLY, after 8 years of missing WDW for worldwide vacations, my family is taking a vacation at WDW again for my parents' 30th anniversary. So much has changed since the Millennium, and I am thrilled to help them plan this adventure!

Disney keeps the magic alive, and honestly, my entire family, including my mom and (now, adult) brother are excited about the trip! I feel that going to Disney so frequently helped my family build a solid foundation that has never left us, because we remember these vacations so vividly.

If you purchased Annual passes, I can see why going this December (about 8 months since your last trip) would be a great benefit in combination with the discounts you're getting. If it's too soon and you do not have APs, then think about going in May '09 instead, as crowds can be thinner and there are discounts around that time of year too.

Disney every year? When it's economically possible (meaning that we are not incurring any debt to do these trips), I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm with you on this. No its not crazy at all. As a matter of a fact this will be my 4th trip coming up since 2006 & I went down last month for a week including 2 MNSSHP & the Backstage Magic Tour. I found the extra money to go down for the MVMCP & CP next month so I took the gamble. It probably wasn't the best idea financially but oh well, going home again is always worth it plus i'm already booked(& paying for) my 20th trip next September taking my best friends Samantha & Matt with me so yea going down a lot isn't a bad thing. It's just making the wait for the magic a whole lot shorter. Have a fun trip, I know ya will.

You are far from nuts!

I am 23 years old and I will be going on my 31st trip to WDW in just 10 days! There have been years where we have gone 4 times (2006 - Mar, Aug, Oct, Dec) and years where we have gone for lengthy periods (Aug 07 - 18 days, Aug 08 - 14 days, and upcomming Oct 08 - 10 days).

Here's a funny thing i noticed. In 2006 we visited...
Aug 25th - Sept 3rd
Oct 25th - Nov 2nd
Dec 27 - Jan 4

So we were in WDW for at least 1 day of 6 consecutive months (Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan)

People think we are "crazy" but i equate it to having a cottage. Lots of peopl here in ontario visit their cottages or trailers every weekend, all summer, every summer. You'd think they'd get sick of it right? WRONG! That is what feels like a proper vacation to them. So what is wrong with going to Disney a few times every year?

Your not crazy!! We went on our first trip (as a family) to WDW in March 05, when we got home I was dying for more! We went again in Oct 06. It was too long for me. Then we went in March 08. Again, too long of a wait. DH and I are taking the kids again in January!!! Then DH and I are going alone in March 09!!! We'll more then likely be returning in January 2010 with our kid and my sisters family! Maybe then we'll take a break ;)

You're definitely not crazy! As a kid there was nowhere else I wanted to be. My dad wanted me to see Europe, and I said "I already did, in World Showcase!" Even now as a 20-year-old, I have an upcoming trip in January and we're seriously considering going back in June for my 21st birthday :woohoo: !! I say if you can afford it, and it makes you happy, why force yourself not to go?!

Ummm I was there April 08 - "early retired" May 08

Had a 12 night Dec trip booked. End of Aug friend & I decided to return for a week end of Sept. Met someone and decided I couldnt wait the 12wks to return in Dec so Im leaving next Thurs for another 12nights before my Dec trip! (staying offsite for this upcoming trip)
