I'm open to suggestions. What kind do you have and would you recommend them? Thanks.

I have a set that I love from QVC called "Cook's Essentials". They are stainless steel. They are very good quality and have a lifetime guarentee. Good prices also. You should get them out on QVC's website. They have changed my outlook on cooking. :)

I have calphalon pots and pans. I love them...nice even heating.

Le Creuset stuff is good..and they have cool pieces like this:

they are 33 years old......they last the longest and I can use stainless steel scrubbers on them and get the mess off the pots ....I told my friend who has gone through many of the non stick stuff and she has had hers now for three years.....

Lagostina with glass lids. I've had them for a few months and they have made cooking much easier. They can even go in the oven. When I think I had my old set for 19 years and could have had this good set, I wonder why I waited.

I have Farberware. Got it as a wedding gift 18 years ago and it's still going strong. In fact, it still looks new. It's a cheaper alternative to some of the fancier cookware.

Nothing cooks like calphalon! Don't get the non-stick stuff, get the traditional calphalon pieces. You need to cook over medium heat so that nothing sticks to it and you need to handwash it because it spots in the dishwasher. You can use brillo on it as needed. I love to make veal or chicken parmesan in my 12" frying pan. I brown the meat, pour on the crushed tomatoes and cheese and into the oven it goes.

You don't have to buy a complete set. I got most of my pieces as starter, or "try me" pieces in the department stores. My giant roasting pan for turkeys and huge lasagnas was only $50.

You'll need one non-stick for making eggs. That is the only thing that sticks to these pans. I usually go with a cheapo frying pan for eggs so I can replace it when the non-stick starts to fail.

You definitely wouldn't be sorry with calphalon.

P.S. I am an owner of calphalon... I get no financial remuneration from the company for my endorsements.;)

DH is a chef and we own calphalon and some Al-Clad. He LOVES Calphalon and it seems to be pretty nice when I actually cook, which isn't to often!!

We have Revereware stainless steel. Lately, Gene has been into cooking on cast iron.

I am still using my 25 yo Farberware set. Still looks great.

herc.

Depends on the type of cooking I'm doing.

For everyday cooking I use my calphalon. I use my revere ware for cooking things like tomato-based sauces and dishes and for overflow (when I'm doing a lot of cooking for entertaining). I use cast iron occasionally for cooking up large one-pan dishes or things that can cook on stove top and oven.

I cook in Lagostina Moon Line that I've had for 25+ years. Love it!

Be sure that if you buy stainless steel that it has something else on the bottom (aluminum or copper). By itself it's not a good heat conductor and you can get hot spots.

I use Cook's Essentials, too. I LOVE them. They are some of the highest quality cookware available AND at an affordable price. I also like the beauty of stainless steel. I have a pot rack hanging over my island and I am proud to display my Cook's Essentials cookware.

I bought a few small pieces last year at some of the Kitchen Shows my friends had and since then, I finally hosted my own show. With my hostess benefits, I was able to purchase a full set of their Professional Cookware (pots, pans, glass lids, and big griddle) at 1/2 PRICE!

I LOVE IT! Everytime my husband washes the Family Skillet, he says "I LOVE THIS PAN!"

Before I had these, I used the pots and pans I bought when I was 17 yrs old from a guy that came door-to-door and was selling cookware, china, and stainless steel flatware. I only have the cookware left and it's OK, but I LOVE THE PAMPERED CHEF!!!

:D

We got a set from my parents for Christmas. They got the set at Sam's Club and it is by Wolfgang Puck. I love it!

I love my copper-clad Revere Ware set.
My mom has had her Salad Master set since like 1978 and she STILL loves hers, and it is a great set!
