Buena Vista Suites and Quality Suites Maingate East both look good to me from their descriptions. Has anybody been there recently? Please give opinions, good or bad...

I would like a suite-type facility; separate bedroom and 3 beds altogether (sleeper sofa fine) for 2 adults and a teen. Wanted something really close to WDW, as I do not want to do a lot of driving in bad traffic on my vacation. Several of the condo-type places (esp. Windsor Palms) also piqued my interest, but I do not want to get involved in any time-share presentation...

My ideal suite hotel would be inexpensive and would also have great complimentary shuttle service to WDW, but so far I have not heard of any good reviews for off-site shuttle busses; I guess I may have to rent a car and drive just a little...

Any input would be appreciated!!

I don't think Quality Suites MGE gets good reviews. Have you checked TripAdvisor? I don't know if the room layout is the same or not, but have you looked at Comfort Suites Maingate East?

Buena Vista Suites worked out great for us. There are 2 queen beds and a sleeper. The beds were comfortable, but didn't try the sleeper. It was clean and well-maintained, but not overly fancy. The breakfast was good. We used a car instead of the shuttles so as not to limit ourselves to their timetables. The drive in is really easy - straight into the parks on the road the hotel is on. There are also restaurants farly close by.

Hope this helps!:)

We've stayed at Quality Suites. It was just fine. The room was a bit worn but nothing major. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate for our tastes.

I agree that depending on off-site shuttles can really detract from your vacation. It is far nicer to have your own car and be able to come and go on your own schedule, not someone else's. That said, if you will have your own transportation, I highly recommend that you consider renting a condo or pool home. You can get one for the same money or even less than you would pay for the suite hotel. Check out vrbo.com and closesttodisney.com. You can get a wonderful 2-bed condo at a place like Windsor Palms for $75/nite or less. That is far more spacious, newer and better equipped than a place like Quality Suites. You won't get the "free" breakfast but the overall experience will be much nicer.
