Looking for general advice, information and opinions on a January 2017 trip to Vero Beach.
Background: So next years 2016/2017 winter break for us has a late start with the Christmas Eve falling on a Saturday. Our kids will be out of school from that Saturday (12/24) until Sunday (1/8). We have never been to Vero Beach (we own points at OKW) and would very much like to spend the last 4-5 days of our break there - maybe 1/4 to 1/8... We have some 2015 points we banked that we have to use by April 2017 and this would be a great way to use them. So, that leads to lots of questions on our end that I'm hoping the good folks here can help us with some advice on.

- How crowded is it this time of year? Will we be able to get reservations at 7 months out? Or should we just forget it altogether and look at different options?
- If we don't go to VB, we'll probably stay at OKW to at least get away from the cold for a while. Should I book OKW at 11 months out, then call Member Services at 7 months to see if I can switch the reservations?
