Need one more TS

We are going to Disney in Sept. and have our week all planned with the exception of needing one more TS. We are taking our twins, and they will be almost 4, so we are planning a free day in the middle of the week just so we don't overdo it. We may do a half day in a park if there is something we feel we've missed, but we don't want to make a TS reservation in a park so we won't be tied down. Having said all that, any recommendations for non-park TS meals. We're staying at Wilderness Lodge and have heard mixed reviews for Whispering Canyons. Any suggestions?

We did not care for WCC at all and won't be going back. How about Kona Cafe or Ohanas at the Polynesian? We've not done them but I read consistenly great reviews of both. Also, The Wave at the Contemporary has been getting stellar reviews as well.

Chef Mickeys is really fun and if you have girls they will love 1900 Park Fare.

WCC is lots of fun! Your kids would probably enjoy it!

You didn't tell us where you are already eating, but I second Ohanas this is my family's favorite place on property and we have eaten at almost all of them. We did like WCC and I had heard mixed reviews about it too, we liked the atmosphere more than the food, but we're not bbq type people so that might be part of it. Another one we love is Boma the food is fantastic at breakfast as well as dinner. Chef Mickeys is a great character meal but we were just like eh it was so so. (no flames you Chef Mickey lovers)

Thanks for the suggestions, so far. Ooops, I did forget to mention where we already plan to make ADR. This is what we have so far- Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree Tavern, LeCellier, Coral Reef, Hollywood Brown Derby, Crystal Palace, and Tusker House.

Something I would suggest that my girls loved when they were that age was the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. The food is very kid friendly and they were absolutely mesmerized by the singing and dancing. It would also be something that would be in line with your "day off" idea, as it feels like you're somewhere other than at Disney for a little while.

I second 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. If you make it a late breakfast you can make it more a brunch. We've eatin there at 10:30 and had a wonderful breakfast, it started clearing out and then you have the characters to yourselves. Pooh, Tigger, Alice, and the Mad Hatter, and last but certainly not least....Mary Poppins! It was our first TS meal and I have to say it's probably one of our favorites, not a place we were expecting to be as great as it was.

Must agree about 1900 Park Fair. We were there for dinner the kids had a fantastic time. Enjoy your vacation.

My kids really liked WCC (and we did too.) Having said that I love Ohana for dinner and Kona for breakfast. Chef Mickey's is fun too especially if you don't have a bunch of character meals already on your agenda. All of those are very easy to get to!

If you really want a relaxing day though, stick with WCC.

If you want food and entertainment try Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness (2 TS though but a lot of fun!) It's great for little ones who like to up close with the characters. They get to spend a ton of time dancing with them. A lot of individual attention.

I also agree that WCC is a good choice since you are staying there. If you want to venture out, Ohana would be my choice. It has a great atmosphere, stuff for the kids and food choices that most would like.

I love WCC !!! Beside that I would recommend Trails End @ the campground , it will be a nice boat ride for the girls and depending on when you eat you could join in on the chip n dale sing along ! Maybe pet the horse's at the farm before hand. The restaurant is a nice value and has the bonuse of seeing the campground. I believe the sing along starts at 7..or dusk .

WCC was our 4 and 5 year olds favorite restaurant...we have booked dinner there twice for our upcoming trip.
