I know you need a ticket to actually go to the restaurant during the party, but do you need to already have your tickets when you make the reservation? We weren't planning on going to MVMCP but now I'm starting to think if we can get the TS reservation we want during the party, maybe we should just go. If we can't get the reservation, we won't go to the party. My kiddos are too little to really enjoy the party and stay up late. Thanks!

That will be one expensive dinner!

You do not need a ticket in hand to book a dinner during party hours

@Pumbaa_
I thought you were not allowed to make ADRs during the party unless you already had a hard party ticket?
Parks close at 6 this year, right? So it was my understanding that the latest dining in park without a ticket was at 5:30ish...

@BMAEC
there are "in room" child care givers that are bonded and insured, etc.
Have you thought about doing that and actually staying for the party?

Just like you don’t have to have a park ticket to make a regular adr, you don’t need a party ticket to make an adr

You will not be allowed to stay though unless you have one. There is also a special page for party night adrs

Thanks for letting me know about this! Thankfully I was able to get one right before the party starts so we won’t need to purchase party tickets after all, but I have friends who may like to know about this child care option in the future!

The in room babysitting is provided by Disney (with a fee of course), but you get licensed insured caregivers who specialize in fun for your child. There are also 3 child care "clubs" for parents' nights out... AKL, BC, and Poly all offer evening child care centers. I think there's one at either Swan or Dolphin as well. The problem with the clubs is you have to pick up before midnight, so if you're doing a party, you would need to leave early.
Anyway, it's an alternative to taking the wee ones to a late night party.
