DD#1's party is tonight. Here are my video ideas:
A Walk to Remember
School of Rock
Bring it On
Freaky Friday
DD wants "Uptown Girls" but I haven't seen it. Is it OK for 12 year olds? Are all of the above movies as well? (we own Freaky Friday but I need to rent anything else)

Uptown Girls is definitely fine for that age group. DD and I saw in the theater and she loved it. I thought the story was weak but it was a cute movie.

Bring It On might be a little over the top for some 12 year old girls (due to some sexual content).

I was going to suggest:
The Princess Bride
Labyrynth (sp??)

Good luck!

DD is in 7th but some she really enjoys are:
What a Girl Wants (Amanda Bynes)
The Lizzie Maguire Movie
Escape from Witch Mountain
Return to Witch Mountain
The Neverending Story (all 3, but the 1st is the best)

Her friends enjoy what DS calls "chick flicks" but I don't consider most of them appropriate for her - yet.

As the aunt of a 13 year old and 10 year old Freaky Friday would be a great movie. They also loved the Parent Trap.

Thanks for the help! We already have Princess Diaries and Parent Trap as well. I rented What a Girl Wants, Legally Blonde II and A Walk to Remember. Only LBII is PG-13 and the other two are PG. I wasn't sure about Bring it On and unfortunately (for me!!) they were out of School of Rock.

I liked Uptown Girls. We had rented it a couple weeks ago and it is a fun movie.

What about Secondhand Lions? I just watched it...very cute movie!

Stay away from Legally Blonde 2. It was just awful. My husband couldn't finish watching.

Second Hand Lions was great. Language, a bit of violence but a good story so you didn't mind so much.

I almost suggested that and then didn't because of the violence. A friend of mine bought Secondhand Lions and brought it over for us to watch the other night. That movie is awesome. :)
