Hi! I am new to this board. We have been looking into the possibility of renting DVC pts for our next trip (may consider purchasing down the road depending how this goes). We would really like to get two studios for a week next October. My question is how hard will it be to get two studios the same week during F&W? And second, what is the best way to get points? Should I use a rental store or get them on here? Our dates are flexible but I want the best chances of getting BWV.

If you arrange for a BWV owner to rent them at 11 months you should be able to get 2 studios at the same resort. Having the studios near each other is a matter of request however - so as long as you are okay with that then it can be a good choice. You can check with a service and see if they have BWV points available or you can use the rent/trade board here to connect with a private owner. For a room at BWV during food and wine be prepared to pay a minimum of $13 a point.

The booking category can be an issue. There are three booking categories at BWV: Standard View, Preferred View/Pool & Garden, and Preferred View/Boardwalk View. I remember last year some people were getting shut out of the Standard View studios right at the 11-month window when trying to book dates in October. If you were specifically looking for two Standard View studios, you might have a problem.

Not knowing the makeup of your travel party, I'll add that BWV does not have any Studios with a connecting door. They will be two completely separate units which may be down the hall from one another, on separate floors, etc. And you must have one adult staying in each room.

No current DVC resorts have connecting Studios. Polynesian may be the first when its villas open sometime next year.

As long as you commit 10-11 months in advance, you will not have a problem getting two studios at the BWV. Plan on the Pool/Garden category. The Boardwalk view and standard view categories may be available, but those go very quickly during F&W and will most likely not be available. As already mentioned, there are no studios that connect to each other and getting them close together will be a request (with no guarantees).

Keep in mind that most rentals are non-refundable and non-changeable. Be sure you understand all the terms before you commit your money.

November will be here before we know it, so good for you for starting early. If you want one of the EPCOT resorts (BCV or BWV) for F&W, the early bird really does get the worm!

Good luck!

We will have a party of 4 adults and a 2 yr old. We originally thought two studios would be best, but could probably do a one bedroom too. I want a standard view if at all possible as we will not be spending too much time in the room and don't want to pay for a view we won't really use. Will we have a better chance of getting a one bedroom than two studios?

Yes, the 1BRs are the last to go. I booked a Standard View 1BR right when the 11 month window opened last November and had no problem. After booking, I checked whether any Standard View studios were available just out of curiosity and there were none available for my check-in date.

Sunday is the most popular check-in date and I was checking in on a Tuesday so it's possible that that is why there were no studios left 11 months out for my dates. Those checking in on Sunday had already booked them up for that week.
