Need Major Help!!!

My family of five are going to WDW at the end of May. I have a 9 dd, 6dd, 5ds.....We are spending seven days and are the dining plan. We have reservations a Port Orleans Riverside. THis is our first trip to Disney and would like some suggestions on where to make ADR's. We will going to MGM 1 day?, AK 1 day, Epcot 2?, MK at least 2......Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How about Chef Mickey (contemporary good for MK day), Garden Grill (Epcot), Biergarten (spelling(?) Epcot), Boma (Animal Kingdom Lodge good on AK day), 1900 Park Fare (GF I believe good on a MK day), Crystal Palace (Magic Kingdom), Mama Melrose or Hollywood and Vine (MGM) for the Fantasmic Package.

That gives you four character meals It also gives you a couple of other non-character meals so you aren't completely character mealed out.

If you do 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey, Garden Grill and Crystal Palace that is two mickey character meals, 1 princess meal and 1 winnie the pooh meal, which should hopefully cover most of the characters.

Boma let's you explore AKL and look at the animals while you wait for dinner or afterwards, it is supose to be a great hotel to just explore. The Fantasmic package let's you not have to wait in the long line for Fantasmic at MGM, though if you don't mind the line then both SciFi and 50s Prime Time Cafe are supose to be fun restaraunts to eat at as well.

Biergarten is supose to have a great show it is the german restaraunt in Epcot, other choices though could be Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada which does great steak, Coral Reef for the giant aquariums, or Restaurant Marrakesh which is the Moroccan restaraunt and has good food according to most.

Animal Kingdom-The Flame Tree(Best ribs ever for a park, 1 cs-awesome bargin)
Boma (1 ts, Best buffet at Disney-exotic & American mix.must do)
DTD-Earl of Sandwhich (any sandwhich)

The dining plan will really give you a great opportunity to try some fabulous restaurants. Here is what we love the best in Table Service:

Magic Kingdom - Liberty Tree (lunch only)
Animal Kingdom - there is nothing table service
MGM - 50's Prime Time
Sci-Fi (dessert only)
Epcot - Akershaus in Norway
Biergarten in Germany
Le Cellier in Canada (AWESOME)
Resorts - Ohana's @ Polynesian
Whispering Canyon @ Wilderness Lodge
Kimonos Sushi Bar @ Swan
Downtown Disney - Wolfgang Pucks (not the Express)

My suggestion is to make some ADR's ASAP! Even if you're not sure where/when you want to eat, go ahead and make the ADR's (since you're on the dining plan and you've already paid for your meals).

As far as where, I would recommend any of:

Crystal Palace (any meal) @MK

I also recommend Mickey's Backyard BBQ (Fort Wilderness) I believe this actually used 2 table meals. Same with the Luau at Poly

We've never done the dining plan...we don't find it all that cost effective. But, here's my 2 cents worth.

MK

Columbia Harbor House (really good fish)...counter service and a bit quieter than Cosmic Rays and other places.
Crystal Palace ...characters (Pooh & Co)...table service...buffet. Very good selection for adults and kids.
Liberty Tree... (characters)....table service and VERY good.
CRT.... eating in the palace with the princesses...need I say more? We've done dinner and breakfast here. I like dinner better but I'm not much on eggs and sausages (yuck).

EPCOT

Garden Grill....very good....TS
Yorkshire County Fish & Chip Shoppe....counter service (the fish melts in you mouth...it's that good).
Askerhaus...2nd choice for breakfast for princesses
Coral Reef...TS...we enjoyed it very much. My son loved the BIG aquarium.

AKL
Mostly counter service here. Boma at the AKL is interesting, but my hubby hates curry so not a good choice for us. Is Rainforest on the dining plan? If so, I'd do this with kids.

MGM

We love (including DS age 7) the Brown Derby and Mama Melrose's. The Brown Derby is very accomodating for kids (they make a special cheese sauce for my son's fries that is to die for) and their Creme Brulee is excellent. At Mama Melrose's...there's pizza or ravioli or spaghetti for the kids (plus the other standard fare) and more "grown up" dishes for you and your hubby...who doesn't love italian...YUM! Hollywood and Vine is plain...but see if the new more boy oriented character meal is open yet (breakfast and lunch) it's rumored to be with the toy story/incredible characters. Supposedly "opens" in early June...but I've been waiting on it for a while!

As far as where else to go...

1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian is pretty good. Their omlete station in the a.m. is good.
Ohana is one of our favorites (Polynesian)
We also LOVE Chef Mickey's (breakfast or dinner). The buffet is very good with a wide selection for adults and kids. (Contemporary)
Cape May is good at the Yacht/Beach Club. It's a short walk from EPCOT or a short boat ride from MGM and my hubby loves the mussels here.

I agree with a couple of the other posts, here are what I think are cant misses.

MGM - 50's primetime cafe (great food, a lot of fun)

Epcot - Le Cellier (excellent food, a bargin at just 1 TS credit)
On the other day it is great to just get CS around the world
showcase, and maybe do a resort restaurant for dinner.

Grumpy-n-Goofy is right hurry and make those ADR's ASAP!

You know, the "all american" type of lunch. A great tasting hot dog with that melted orange cheese sauce, french fries with that same melted cheese sauce, a cold sprite, and cracker jacks (although in the snack size bag)..just the very heart of an american summer time lunch out at the park!

Could you get any more basic, but love it like it's you first time?
