Hi all:
After a long hiatus from FW, I am thinking of heading back this summer. I am looking at bringing my 42ft. MH but will probably need to pitch a small tent for some extras that will be coming with me. :) So I am looking for loop or sites or even types that would accommodate both but also be easy to get into. I will be driving down as the sole driver of this bus and can drive it well but get super stressed when I have to park the damn thing. I do have new side cameras so that will help but it's usually my husband who does the parking.
Thanks for any help.

I would probably stick with a Premium site. Much wider and generally less obstacles. I would list the tent size on the reservation. Most Premium sites have some space for a tent. Not necessarily a 16X20, but certainly a smaller tent will fit on some.

As for which Premium loop, everybody has their favorites. Since they are spread all of the Fort, pick the general are you want and go from there.

Trish,

When you check in (actually drive up to the Fort), you can ask if the site you were assigned is "easy" to back into. Like teamubr says, the Premiums are your best bet. Over 55' long most of them and 18' wide. I would think most Premiums are rated "easy".

Thanks, guys. It's the only time I cry driving the RV. LOL Ok, one other time when I found myself in downtown Annapolis on those tiny streets. But other than that, I can drive this thing. It's like a mental obstacle now. Thanks for the info.

Other then being 42' there are some preferred sites you could get into, but if you have a car then you might be tight on space for a tent as well. Premiums are great, huge sites and all. But no sand pad for a tent. Not a big issue if you are using an inflatable bed or cot, but not sure even a sleeping mat would be enough to make that comfortable.

hi everyone!!! We have stayed at the fort last year in our popup and have done preferred loop / tent popup site / and once were upgraded to a premium site b/c of fort errors, but we have sold the popup and bought a 29' Coleman travel trailer. We will be headed to the fort nov 6-11th and it will be the first time bringing the new one out. I'm so excited but nervous for my hubby who has to park it lol ....we are booked at a full hook up site with pet loop any idea/suggestions for loops?

cmullen, good for you with the travel trailer.

All Full loops are pet loops btw.

Loop recommendations depend on what you want.

Want to be close to the pool area? 1600 from about 1625 to 1640.

Want to be in the peace and quiet (probably the most quiet corner of the Fort)? 1900 from about 1915 to 1930.

Want a waterfront site? There's a couple that back up to the canal in 1800. Maybe 1808, 1809, 1812, 1813. A few in 1600 (1616, 1617, 1618).

Plus you can always request "close to a comfort station" if you want to.

Have fun!
