Need Info on Waking Tinkerbell and not being FIRST

MY DD got to do this on our trip. We did not run from the front of the park but happened to be walking past Tink's treasures when I remembered she could maybe get a chance to wake up Tink. We were the first one's in the store and they let DD wake her up ans she got a magical moments certificate. I will post a picture later if I can. She loved doing this. After I thought it was no big deal, but cute.

Don't quote me, but I've heard that during the Wishes fireworks they close Tinkerbell's Treasures, and then after the fireworks have been cleaned form the area, they re-open and Tinkerbelle can be awakened from her "nap."
Never tried it, but I read somewhere that a few people have watched the fireworks from behind the castle in Toontown and then walked over to the TT shop and were able to do it then.
Good luck!
And to Lindy Loo: GREAT pics, thanks for sharing!!!!!

Thanks for all of the posts - I will let you know when we get back what happened. We have two days in the MK, so hopefully we will be able to do it once.

Do they let grownups wake Tink? I think I would be more excited to do this than DD4 princess:

My son wanted to wake tink a couple years ago. We had an early breakfast and were at the rope near the shop. We walked right in and another mother with a little girl and boy walked in a couple minutes later. Lucky my son had not actually woke her yet so it was me who asked if they could join him. The funny thing was the look on the mothers face. She was sending daggers to me and my son. I found it amusing that anyone could be that ticked about something like that. She still still looked mad even after her kids joined in. People can be strange sometimes but then again I am probably considered strange because I find humor in people like that. I figure it's Disney and Disney is supposed to bring out the kid in you and some kids pout and give the evil eye when they don't get what they want right. lol My husband has the same warped sense of humor I have so we laughed about her all day long. lol

I think it's crazy that they only allow one child a day to do this.:sad2:

They could post a set time to Wake Tink. Maybe 9:30 or 10:00.
Everyone who wants to take part can get to the store at the proper time. The CMs can give each child a wand. They can all wave their wands, say the magic and wake up Tink.

This might put an end to the pushing, shoving, and tears that people have posted about.

So when yo usee Tink flying in the store is it just a light going around?

My experience through this thread.

All this to start a light up. If I had to get shoved by people to experience this I wouldn't even try. This is because I would definately shove back. My DW would be most upset with me for doing that. So why even bother because they only let one person do this per day. Doesn't sound very magical to tell my kids that they can't "wake up tink" because someone else beat them to it. Sorry JMO.

This is one of those things that if my kids did not already know about it, then I wouldn't tell them.

I'd hate for them to be all upset about not getting to do it.

And if they didn't know about it, and we happened to be there first, I still probably wouldn't tell them since I would know there were probably other kids dying to do it.

We tried, I got lost for a moment where the shop was -asked 2 CM's, they had never heard about it....

Got there the CM was rude and said the first person in the store gets to wake her up. We got to see her thru the keyhole, but DD didn't find it special at all...

So, to me it was a waste of enjoying the walk down main stree, to get to the store, oh well....

We won't try again, and my dd is a HUGE Tink fan~

We did not tell them we were trying it...just took them across the street. Had there been a mad rush, we would have skipped it.

Exactly, my DD has no idea this little "event" exists, so that's why she thinks just coming in to see Tink and knocking on her dresser and having her light up is very special. It's only as special as you make it for them.

To the person who asked, yes, it's just lights that I believe start in the "faux" window that looks out to London, flashes across the ceiling to her dresser, and then a light goes off in the dresser. There's also that Tinker Bell chime. As we pass the store, I always ask my daughter, do you want to see if Tink is here in Disney World today. That way, if the lights do not go off, I say Hmmm, she must be back in Neverland with Peter. My daugther is equally satisified with that. She starts talking about what she might be doing at the time. Special is what you make it.

There's always a good chance that a CM will see your child knocking on the dresser and send Tink flying to the keyhole! :wizard:

Is this only in WDW?

I think it is only in WDW. I was in Disneyland last summer and didn't see any shops quite like Tinkerbell's Treasures. DLR does have that wonderful shop in Fantasyland where the Princesses come to read stories to the children, which is really awesome too.

Making an early adr at crystal palace or the castle is the way to go and then watch to make sure you are there when the rope is dropped. I have learnt make sure you are standing on the far left handside of the rope. Also go in the farthest door to your left not the one right infront. We did the one infront and lost out two times but the third time was the charm. It brings you right into the cash area where you wake tinkerbell. Good luck !!!!!!!!!
