Need Info On renting points

:wave2: We will be taking our next WDW vacation in Feb 2006. Presidents week arriving the 19th leaving on the 25th. It will be 2 adults and three children ages 8,6,2. I have never done this but we are AP holders. Usually stay with discounted rooms. Please I need help understanding how this would work, how much it would cost, can I use credit card, etc.
We would like to stay at WLV or BCV or BWV. But really would consider others if that's all that was available. Don't know what size we would need. Do not want to be cramped. We travel to WDW 2 to 3 times a year and would like to try this out. We usually stay at a deluxe or moderate. Thank you! :earboy2:

With one child being 2 yr old, you might be able to make do with a 1 bedroom. For maximum room and additional full bath, you could go with a 2 bed.

It is really up to you and how much room you would like to have.

The one bedroom has a living room/nook with table, full kitchen, washer & dryer in one room and then a bedroom with full bath suite. The two bed is the same as one bed with a studio attached with full bathroom and small bar with microwave, sink and small refrigerator.

Hope this helps.

As long as the one bedroom has two beds it should be fine it is only for 6 nights. If we were going for two weeks I would want the two bedroom. Ok who can help me with specifics on a one bedroom for that week? Thank you for your reply Cheryl. :wave2: ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

All 1BR villas will have a King Bed in the master bedroom and a sleep sofa in the living room. Studios at OKW will have 2 queen beds and all others onsite will have 1 queen and the sleep sofa. 2BR villas will have the king bed in the master and either 2 queens or 1 queen and the sleep sofa (plus the sleep sofa in the living room) based on the configuration. All villas (studios, 1BR and 2BR) will provide a Pack-N-Play crib.

When you decide which resort and which room type you'd like, please post you exact dates, resort and room type on the Rent/Trade Board and see if anyone can assist. If you have other questions about the resorts or how renting works, please post those here on the DVC Forum.

Good luck!

I already did post details but have again; it would be Feb. 19 2006 to Feb. 25. 2006 We would like WLV, BCV, BWV but really would consider any DVC resort. Would be 2 adults 3 children 8,6 and 2. It has now been decided we would need a one bedroom.
So I need to know how much it would cost, how can I pay, how is this done and anything else I need to know, lol. :earboy2: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Those details will need to be negotiated and agreed upon between yourself and the member who rents to you. Each transaction is a private deal between member and renter. Make sure you are comfortable with all aspects of the rental. All of those issues will need to be done thru the Rent/Trade contacts - and not thru the DVC Board. Please repost your requests on the Rent/Trade Board.

and you can also try and make reservations through Disney the same as you do for any of there other hotels. Ask what the rate for a 1 bedroom Villa is at the hotel of your choice. You may do better with the DVC rent forum, but Disney does book the Villas at all the resorts if there are openings. Good luck!....ps..when you're there, check out buying points yourself....it's well worth the investment!

:wave2: Nice to hear from a fellow Long Islander Wendy. I do want to see what the regular rate, AAA and any AP rates if available. But since we are interested in DVC I thought this would be a nice way to really see if we like it. I am just trying to figure all this out, I am getting very confused as to how this works. :confused3 :confused3

:wave2: LOL on my computer everything is still on rent/trade. Thank you for letting me know Sue. :confused3

When you find someone to rent from, they can help you with the remainder of the rental process. Once you have been thru it once, you will actually find it rather easy. You can use a credit card if you go thru a company like PayPal, which will then mail the $$ to the renter if he has an account thru them. Just make sure you receive the confirmation number before you wire the payment.

FYI, it sounds to me like your family is ideal for DVC membership. If you travel often enough to have APs and like to stay in deluxes, then the extra room and home like accommodations of DVC are perfect for you. Plus, you will bed prepaying many years of vacations, and it does save in the long run.
