Hello all!
We are going to BCV in less than a month for our first stay there. I THINK we would like a room where we could see either the Epcot fireworks or Spaceship Earth. Are there rooms that have this type of view? Are these good choices in your opinion? Lastly, what is the process of requesting a room? Do I fax a letter to BCV or call? What phone numbers do I use?
Thanks in advance-
Dub

Requests should be made to member services and added to your reservation. They have very specifically asked that members stop faxing the room controller.

Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. What you are looking for is definetly an option. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/beachclub.pdf
This will give you an idea of “sectional views”. It is extremely difficult to ask for a specific room (as well as trying on the CM’s). With the new room ready policy, guests have reported getting several choices at check-in and this may than help

I have also created a sheet that just has some highlights of rooms that may not work for everyones needs. You might find that helpful instead:

The files arein adobe acrobat and which can be downloaded from this site for free:

Bear in mind that many of the rooms with an Epcot or Spaceship Earth view overlook the service area.

Personally, the times we have stayed at BCV we have had a view of the quiet pool, which I thought was lovely. The ducks would swim in the pool early in the AM and again at around 530PM, which was adorable, we could watch the goings on there from our balcony. A couple of years ago, we had room 134, whose patio opened out almost onto the pool area. Talk about convenient!!!!!

Think of 3 or 4 things that would please you about your room location, keep them general, and communicate them to MS in a phone call in your order of preference. Many people make non-smoking (or smoking) and non-handicapped (or handicapped) their first 2 preferences, since these change the smell or the equipment on the inside of the room. After that you could request nearness to an elevator, a preference for a first-floor or high-floor room, or a view such as Epcot (pretty but with risk of road noise) or the woodlands or the quiet pool.

Beyond the first 2 requests I suggest, which are very specific, I'd try to communicate more what you want your experience to feel like than an exact view or location. Then the CM who checks you in has the best chance of finding something unoccupied that will satisfy you.

Here's what I ask for:
* Non-Smoking
* Non-Handicapped
* Quiet location

Have a great trip!

I have to agree with Disney Doll, but as long as folks keep asking for those EPCOT/Road view rooms, the quiet pool will keep being available.;)

Don't let anyone talk you out of the Epcot view if that's what you want. We have been fortunate enough to have this view on both of our stays, and it was great! A spectacular view of Spaceship Earth, complete though awkward view of Illuminations fireworks, no "service area" view and minimal road noise.

If you want the Epcot view, just call or e-mail MS and ask them to add that request to your reservation.

Bear in mind with all the people requesting this view, that there may not be availability when you check in.

That being said, we have had nothing but awesome views each time we have been at BCV and each time they have been different.
