Need info for MK Merry Christmas Party

We have our tickets for the Merry Christmas Party for Dec. 7 2006. I have been to WDW many, many times, but have never been there for Christmas season. What should we not miss in MK, Should we go to MK the same day as the Christmas Party, or should we go on 2 different days. Only going to MK park.Should we make our full day at MK a day when there is no Christmas Party, then go to the Christmas party on our reservation night. What WDW hotels have the best decorations? What time can you get in for the Christmas party if you are just going for that. Thanks.

I think GF is absolutely beautiful at Christmas, with the huge tree and the Gingerbread house. Wilderness Lodge is another one. Also, the Y&B Club and I can't leave out the Boardwalk. There are so many that are decorated so beautiful it is really hard to pick the ones that are the most beautiful.

The last MVMCP we went to was in December 2005. If I recall right the park closes at 6pm and reopens again at 7pm to start the party.

We did make arrangements to get the photo included with the ticket, but did not wait in the long line to accomplish this, so we did get the photo taken later in the evening.

We also preserved funds to add a little excitement by allowing the kids to buy special christmas hats the evening of the party.


We found the GF to be one of the more impressive displays of decorations in the resort category. MGM and MK do well too, especially if MGM has their special Osborne light display. Also, consider the Candlelight procession at Epcot.

As far as spending the whole day there, I would do your other day seperatley. I believe you can get into the MK with your party ticket at 4:00. Not a lot of people know this. But what happens is, they will let you in at 4, and you will get a wristband. When the park closes at 6, all the guests with wristbands will go to a certain area (majority of time, it's Tomorrowland) You can stay here until the rest of the park has been cleared of daytime guests.
