Need Immediate Help!

The only dates we can go are May 23-30th. Core dates in the parks will be 24-28. I am worried about crowds. We will not be in the parks on Memorial Day weekend, but what about the Monday-Friday leading up to that weekend? Please give me as many experienced and honest answers as possible. If I have to deal with large crowds, we will just come next year and go somewhere else this year. Thanks in advance for your insight!

We went Wednesday before Memorial Day to Wednesday after in 2000. Huge difference in crowds in just a couple of days. Days before not bad. Main thing I remember is how hot it was. Orlando set a record high on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend if I remember right.

Last year, I went the week before Memorial Day (5/18/03 through 5/22/03) and crowds were not bad at all. The only long wait we had was on Thursday (22nd) for the Kali River Rapids. We waited to go in the afternoon and it was SO HOT. I think everyone wanted to get on this to get relief from the heat. Anyway, I really don't think you'll have any problem with crowds.

This is all so good to know. We will be there the week prior to Memorial Day as well...I too was a little worried about crowds. I am glad to hear that the only thing we may be battling is the heat! Nothing Typhoon Lagoon can't take care of!

We visit every year at this time. The crowds during the week leading up to Mem Day are manageable. Even over the weekend they are not bad if you use the old standbys: Fastpass, early entry, and back to hotel by lunchtime. Have fun, maybe we will see you there.

The week prior to Memorial Day is 'moderate', by Disney standards (meaning busy but managable). By Friday the crowds pick up considerably. The parks (esp. MK) are very busy through the end of the day on Monday, then taper off again by the end of the day on Tuesday.

Have fun! It's still a great time of year to visit.

Speaking of Typhoon Lagoon ... if it IS a hot Memorial Day weekend, the crowds at the parks may not be as bad as the crowds at the water parks! Be aware of that as you plan -- get to the TL as early as you can. On hot days it can close at capacity fairly early.
