25 of us are cruising together in December. I want to get the "juices flowing" by sending everyone a little something in the mail each month. Here's a few of the ideas I have already, can you give me some more? You people are so creative!!

1. Word Search "Disney Words" puzzles (I can create these online and print them out for free)

2. Uh, well, I thought I had another idea.................

I don't know if this would be stupid or not... but how about one sheet of address labels? You can find images on google doing their image search. There's one with Mickey at the helm. (I've made some for myself... LOL).

I don't know if this is what you are looking for but when I went to WDW with my nephews, I put together a Disney trivia book (each with trivia for the age they were at) and I did a Disney word scramble and I also made up some poems for Hidden Mickeys for them to find (this is posted on my website).

I also copy and pasted from a very popular post on the DISboards about the strangest things you ever saw at Disney World (I still have this in a MS Word file).

What about arranging a scavenger hunt on the cruise? You can put this together pretty easily I think and maybe get a prize for the winner? (maybe a DCL mug or something)

Or you could even maybe do an online scavenger hunt maybe for the DCL website? I dunno :teeth:

Good luck anyway ::yes::

When I took my sis and her kids to WDW a few year ago I had the same idea as you. I wanted to give them something each week for a month before we went. I ended up with 12 things a piece. Here they are and you can make them over to fit your needs.

Toothbrushes....the drugstores here sell Mickey toothbrushes, I bought a permanent pen and wrote each of their names on them. Hey even the adults would love this.

Disney shampoo and soap....I had saved up from previous trips, you could post here and maybe someone could send you some to help you out. You give each family a little bottle of Mickeys shampoo to help with the wait.

I also gave them disposable cameras, autograph books, hats and water bottles from our local DS, disney pins, sunglasses, oh and here are a few more....

Disney playing cards.....my local discount drug store sells these for a couple bucks. They are adorable. They can then bring them on the cruise.

I watched the disney store for beanies on sale.....our store had a Mic holding a Menorrah (sp? sorry) and we live in an area where these did not sell, they marked them down to 1.00 each. With the snip of one thread the Mics had nothing in their hands at all.....what a deal. You could send one per family if you find something like this.

Here is one I think would work great if you have all adults and/or families going

Buy the Pioneer albums 12x12 on sale at Joanns ( 7.49 when the run the sale) First send them their album with an title page....i.e."Our family reunion aboard the Wonder" Next month send a second page decorated with cruise borders and headers, keep it simple, do them all the same, if they have never scrapped put a journaling box on each page you send. With instructions to insert it into the next page protector.....by the time you go they will have a beautiful photo album all ready and waiting for the those special pics. And you will have been a big part of it. What a great family memory.

well hope these help you a bit

Cindy,
I love the idea of the scrapbook! How fun to get a page each month!

PWoodham,
I think the scrapbook plan is wonderful and would be my first choice but if it's not your thing, perhaps you could make Mickey shaped cookies and send everyone a small box?
How about a family newsletter? You could put in fun Mickey facts and plans for the cruise. If you're handy with paint shop pro (or the like) you could use photos of the family and stick mickey ears on them and paste them onto pictures of the ship. You could write funny stories as articles for the newsletter. Something like a "report" of Uncle Fred dancing the night away with Daisy Duck.
Could you have someone who is heading off to WDW or DL purchase guest of honour badges for each member of your family? Oh, maybe the cruise has something like this? Check out the cruise board and see if they do and perhaps someone can get them for you.
What about getting a pin for each person of their favourite character (or the one they are most like)?
Okay, I think that's all I've got.
Have fun though -I'm sure it will be a great trip!!!

Lydia, glad you liked my idea.....I would love doing something like that for my family.
