DH has agreed to go on our first and only Disney cruise. He said it's our only one because we could do another line for a 1/3 of the cost. So I want to go all out on this trip. I'm not a door decorator so I have no idea where to start. Can anyone give me ideas? It needs to be realtively simple because I amd craft impaired.

First...hope you don't mind me giving you ideas for lots of things!

TRAVEL PLANNER
Look in my 4shared file in the link in my signature, then look in the "travel planner" file and the "DCL" file and there are some pages if you want to get organized for your trip...if you haven't already made some of your own.

PORTHOLE MICKEY EARS/HATS
I have fun mickey head decorations and one pluto decoration for the "porthole door number" on the cabin doors in my 4shared file in the link in my signature. Then look in the "porthole art" file.

If you decide to try them...I haven't been on a cruise but according to other posts the porthole cabin # is 7.5 inches round. So first print out the 7.5 inch round porthole. Then to ensure it is the correct size...use a ruler to measure it...just in case the size gets changed when you print it. Then print the mickey ears and place them on the sides of the porthole to ensure they are correct. Then pick whatever hat(s) you want...you could always have a different one for every day...especially for the day of the "pirate party". I even have goofy ears and hat for a different porthole look. In case the porthole is not exactly 7.5 inches like I have seen on the boards take a pair of scissors so that you can trim the ears and hats if needed.

LINKS FOR SOME CRUISE MAGNETS, ETC.:
To make these...either print on magnetic paper and trim
or
print on cardstock and laminate or use clear shelf (also called contact) paper then add magnetic strips to the back.

Milliepie and Bababear (Mel) have some GREAT cruise things...here are some links for their things:

... can't find Mel's thread for cruise magnets...but here is a link to one of her threads...you could send her a pm and ask for her link to her door magnets:

MICKEY'S GRAND WELCOME GIFTS
I also have a few things in my "mickey's grand welcome" file in the link in my signature. There is a cruise gift tag from Mickey and another from Minnie that I made to put on welcome gifts. There is a "welcome aboard" banner in the "door banner" file. There are mickey footprints that you can leave around the cabin on the floor. If you don't mind wasting ink...use the yellow ones. To save on ink...use the black and white footprint and print on yellow cardstock. Then laminate it...just so that it won't get ruined in transit.

Some fun gifts to give from Mickey and Minnie for the "Grand Welcome" would be monogrammed towels, or disney beach towels in a fun pail with a shovel for the day when you hit the beach. I think at JoAnn's there are embroidered disney characters that you could sew on the towels, then take them to a local t-shirt shop and have their names embroidered (this is usually around $5.00-10.00 depending on the length of the name and size). You definitely want to make pillow cases or get a photo matte and leave them at guest services when you first get there. Put them in a large ziploc baggy with some fun candy and note for the crew and sharpie markers and they will get the characters to sign them for you.

"FISH EXTENDERS"
You also need to participate in the "fish extender" craze. I so want to go on a cruise just so I can get a fish extender and make fun gifts.

Here are a few links if you aren't familiar with fish extenders also called FE:

AUTOGRAPHS
Take and leave (from the characters) some candy with cute wrappers for the day you go to see a show. At Walmart you can get the boxes of candy for around $1.00-1.50 and they are the perfect "movie size" candy for a show.

Hummm...I know I have list and lists of things I want to do when I go on my cruise. Hope there were a few good ideas in here for you.

GIFT BASKETS DELIVERED
If you don't want to have to take an extra suitcase just to fit gifts in...here is a person that can deliver gift baskets to the cabins

You can also send boxes in advance to the ship...here is a link (if it is still good)...5th bold header down the list "Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise"
