We have always stayed either onsite or near the parks for all of our stays. For this trip we will be getting off of the cruise on a Sunday and flying out of MCO on Monday.

I would appreciate recommendations for hotels near MCO since we have family members who are flying out of there at different times that day.

We like the Hyatt right inside MCO for late arrivals or early departures. It's so convenient, only about 100' walk from the hotel to airport security. Their rack rate is expensive but we usually get it on Hotwire for $55-75 + tax.

Lately though, it hasn't been showing on HW until 1 week prior so now we've been using www.lastminutetravel.com. They don't give the name of the hotel but do show photos & if you've ever stayed there before, it's easy to see it's the Hyatt. Even if you haven't stayed before, it's easy to match the pool with the photo on Hyatt's website.

We bought through lmt.com for Sept & Nov stays for $111+ tax.

Here's a picture from our Hyatt balcony. You can see security in the far, right corner, just beyond the escalator.

It doesn't get any more convenient than the Hyatt. Since family members will be flying out at different times this hotel's location would cut down on your back and forth travel time and, potentially, your waiting around time in the terminal.

There are plenty to choose from http://orlando.airporthotelguide.com/

It's hard to be more specific not knowing your desired price range.

We would be looking for something in the $90 to $120 range. The Hyatt at MCO would certainly be the most convenient, but if there is a nice alternative that is still close to the airport that would be OK as well. I will check out the link for more info on hotels. It would be nice to hear from DISers who have stayed at some of these for some honest opinions. I trust the experience of the people on this forum and have never been disappointed in the past.

We would like to have our plans in place well before the trip, so last minute deals would make some in our group VERY uncomfortable. :rolleyes1

I can relate. We always book a cancellable reservation directly with a hotel as a back up. We have also stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott which was decent & clean. Not luxurious but good for a 1 nt stay. They have a nice complimentary continental breakfast.
We have chosen the Hyatt so many times over others simply because my parents or inlaws often travel with us. They all have heart & lung issues so the Hyatt works best for them. We're spoiled after staying there so many times.
Now that I know how to find Hyatt on HW or LMT, I see no reason to book Fairfield or others for the same price as I can get a more convenient 4* hotel. jmho
