I retired in April so we will be taking our motorhome to Clermont (8 miles from WDW) from Nov-April. Youngest daughter is being home schooled with an online program that is working out great so problem one solved. Now for problem two what are the best hospital in the orlando area? Both of my girls have spina bifida so I need a children's hospital with good neurosurgeons and an adult hospital. I hope we don't need to visit them but the odds are against us so hoping someone can help.

Best choice would probably be Orlando Regional Medical Center in downtown Orlando. It is very close to the intersection of the East-West Expressway (SR-408) and I-4. It includes the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Infants, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and of course the main hospital itself. Check out www.ormc.org for details.

My family is from Clermont, and still has a home there we visit often. Did you know about the new Clermont (southlake) hospital? it is state-of-the-art and really wonderful. it is on Rt. 50, you can't miss it. I would not bypass this hospital to go into Orlando. the ER is huge and has short wait times. Members of my family suffer from a multitude of dibilitating disorders and we do not hesitate to use Southlake hospital.
