Dress & purse for $86 is darn good!!!!!! I'm proud of you.

If she has "problem" hair & nails, try and splurge and let her get them done. If she's looking pretty in her dress, she'll have more confidence and she'll have a better time. I remember being a teenage girl...it wasn't always easy.

Shoes...try Payless. I'm a strappy sandal fan myself, but if it's a long gown, a lot of the kids around here are wearing fancier flip-flops with them. I'm not sure if I love the idea, but it is comfortable!!!! Saw a couple of girls the other day buying white flip-flops with some sparkles along the strap part, and they were chattering about how they'll be great for prom so their feet don't hurt.

Then depending on the date: Maybe some money to help pay for dinner? if they are goign out as a large group or something..

have not done mail order dress, too big of a pain with sizing. Department stores usually carry great dresses at great prices.

Will be going to Payless today. She is also a "shoe" kinda gal, so I don't think that flip flops are going to do it for her. Fortunately, the dress is at a perfect length and requires no hemming. It also rules out an ideas of a stilleto heel that she might get in her head.

Oh she would love all those dresses but she doesn't have enough "stuff" up top to carry any of those off. Maybe next year.
