Hi, all! I'm an American living in Italy (for another year, then we head back to the US) and am planning a trip to Paris 20-26 November. There is no way I'm going to Paris and NOT going to DLP, but I need some help! I've tried searching the forum, but after reading for an hour didn't really find what I was looking for.

We have four kids. Their ages at the time of our trip will be 11, 7, 4, and 1 (she'll actually turn 1 during our trip). We're probably either going to fly or take the Eurostar from Venice to Paris (it cost me 100 Euro to fill up my van yesterday, adding tolls to that, it works out to be cheaper to fly EasyJet or RyanAir).

So, my plan is to rent an apartment for the week in Paris. Does anyone have experience with that? How easy is it to get to DLP from Paris? Would it be easier if I rented an apartment for the part of the trip we're in Paris and then rent a hotel closer to DLP for that part? Also, I know WDW and DL are offering military discounts. Does anyone know if any of the other Disney parks are doing the same?

For those who have been to Paris, is the city easy to navigate? Any must-dos you'd recommend (other than the Eiffel Tower and Louvre)? This will be our first big trip outside of Italy since we've been here, so I'm a bit nervous!

Any other tips anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated! I know I'm probably a little behind the power curve in my planning!

Hi..I have been to DLP so many times I have lost count! Firstly I have attached a link which explains the discounts you may find but I don't think you can get a Military one:sad2:

Secondly there is a train, the RER, that runs from central Paris to DLP and it takes about 35 mins:thumbsup2 So with young children it may be a long trip back because unless you stay near the RER station you will still have get across town. On a plus note the station at DLP is literally right outside the Main entrance to both parks.

Personally I would stay on resort and do a character breakfast and you also do get a continental breakfast each morning with your hotel, its not a huge resort and is very walkable. So long as you go with that and an open mind you will enjoy it. Also on another Caution if you decide to go on Space Mountain in DLP its WAY WAY different to the one in WDW and more like a dark HULK ride at Universal!!!!:hippie:

In Paris apart from the lovely pastry shops I would do the Rodin Museum. Now I didn't think I was going to enjoy that museum but my sister dragged my around it and it was great. I would also do a day out to Versailles Palace its just beautiful:flower3:

Where ever you stay I am sure you will enjoy it.:cheer2:

With reference to Paris.

Travel from DLP to Central Paris is very very easy. As the previous poster mentioned you take the RER line A and that drops you off in Central Paris. It would be perfectly viable to do this as a couple of day trips depending on what sights you wanted to see, as staying in Paris is very expensive. Most of the main sights run along the Seine and are close together. The Louvre for example is a 5 minute walk across a bridge from the Musee D'Orsay. Also running in a straight line from the Louvre is Tuileries Gardens, Place De Concorde, The Champs Elysees & the Arc D'Triomphe (sorry I may not have spelt those correct). Disneyland Paris also runs some day trips to Paris if you end up staying on site.

Along this same RER line are Val D'Europe & Bussey St George. If your looking to keep cost down it might be worth looking for apartment around these villages. You can still be in Disneyland Paris within a few minutes by staying there. Sorry I don't have any personal experience of apartments to recommend.

Happy Planning :goodvibes

After looking around the DLP site, I'm leaning towards staying on property at DLH or Hotel Santa Fe. I know my DH will tell me to go for DLH, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much money! I've also heard that I'll be disappointed by DLP after being to WDW, but I don't care. :)

Princess - good to know most things in Paris are in close proximity to each other. You've given me some ideas on places to look for apartment rentals.
