My baby sister, is expecting TRIPLETS! :cloud9: She is doing very well and I am getting ready to host a shower for her. I would love some games, decorations, etc that are centered on triplets. I know that we have several moms with multiples onthe board...can you help me out any? Thanks in advance for any help! By the way we do have names and genders for the babies who will be here late Dec. or Early Jan.---Parker pirate:, Tyler pirate:, and Amber princess:

Congrats to your sis and family!!
I will be very interested in seeing the responses you get. My best friend is expecting triplets too!! I will be helping with her shower and don't know what to do!!!

I don't have experience with multiples. Sure sounds like fun and exhausting. I love the names. Congratulations to your family.

My suggestion is to wait until after the babies are born to do the shower. A pregnancy with triplets is pretty high risk and many things can happen. Chances are they will come very early and that could goof up plans at least. They will also have a better idea of what things are needed after the babies come home from the hospital as well.

As for theaming, sorry, I am very uncreative so no real ideas there. At our shower for our twins they had two signs hung up one said "it's a boy" the other said "it's a girl". You could have 2 boy and one girl ones. How is THAT for creativity??? :rotfl2:

I guess it would depend on how many people are coming but with a friend having twins we had everyone dress as pairs, nothing elaborate just matching solid pants and shirts, worked out very cute for all the pictures

I don't have any triplet shower theme ideas but I went to a baby shower on Saturday where we played an interesting game.

They took infant sized disposable diapers and melted a different type of chocolate bar in each one. They were still warm when we got them :sad2:

We had to guess what brand of chocolate bar it was, by looking, smelling and tasting if we really wanted to ;)

It was quite interesting to see all those women with their noses stuck in "dirty" baby diapers. :joker:

I just remembered a game we played at the shower I threw for my friend. I bought a bunch of baby food in jars. Took off the labels and lettered them "a", "b", etc.... at the bottoms making sure I had on a piece of paper which flavor went with the letter. I then passed around the jars and everyone had to write on a piece of paper what there guess was of each jar. It was cute and fun and there was only 1 person who got them all right! I had a little prize for the winner.
Sorry it's not specific to triplets.

As the mother of triplets, I had three baby showers (my work, dh's work, and my family) and I attended NONE of them due to bed rest. How many weeks is your sister? I know my dr began to limit my activites at 20 weeks even though I felt perfectly fine. By 24 weeks, even talking was a chore. Keep all this in mind as you are planning!

I will ask on a triplets board I belong to to see if anyone has some cute ideas for you. PM me to remind me if you don't hear back from me in a day or so.

Congrats to you and your family! Any child is a blessing! :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

I missed my baby shower because of bed rest and hospitalization. It was a bummer. If this happens to you, have the shower anyway, videotape it for the mom to be, and let her open her gifts later, a few at a time.

Most of the clothes I got for Hannah were huge because she was a premie. You might want to think about something different for gifts - like gift cards to restaurants, cleaning sevices, gift cards for baby clothing that can be used on line. Have everyone write down some of their best parenting advice, collect it all and put it in a scrapbook for the mom.

Good luck! And Congrats to your family.

Hi, Congratulations to the whole family! :thumbsup2

My DS and DIL had a great shower, I thought. Not triplets, but I think the ideas might be even better for the triplet Mom. The shower host invited the men as well as the women since the men in their group are all very involved with baby and child care.  In fact my DS, who is a contract editor, works out of their home and is primary caretaker for Miss Amelia. :flower3:

The best thing that helped the new parents, though, is the the shower hostess had put together a sign up sheet and posted it in a prominent place near the door. Guests were asked to sign up to bring a dinner meal for the new parents following the birth of the baby - with the date they were offering to bring the meal. :dancer: :dancer: Close friends were encouraged to sign up more than once as they had places slotted for three weeks following the baby's birth. It was explained that this way the new parents could attend to baby care and sleeping the first demanding weeks and bringing the meal over would provide friends and family an opportunity to see the new little one without everyone showing up at once and exhausting the parents.... the list was then posted on line so folks could go to it if they forgot when their :date" was. :surfweb:

The other thing the hostess did was ask everyone to take a sharpie and write a little note of good wishes or a poem or something funny on a cut out that the hostess had prepared in advance. The little wishes pixiedust: were strung on ribbon and were brought to the hospital to hang above the new mother's bed while she was there. She and my DS just loved it and treasure it still. See the little darlin below in my signature! Not the dogs, silly! :lmao:

Just wanted to say congratulations on the triple blessing.

Hi all and thanks for the replies. My sister will be 19 weeks along tomorrow. She is set to stop working on the 29th. So far the doctor is not limiting her. We are going to do the shower at her home, and she doesn't have to do a thing for it. We will do another shower AFTER the babies are born, that one will be in the town we grew up in. Her coworkers had a surprise shower for her earlier today (She did know about the shower before hand). We do anticipate that she will be on bed rest before too long. I have the shower set for Oct. 7th as of right now. If she ends up on bed rest she says to still have the shower as planned. Now, if she ends up in the hosp before then we may have to change our plans. We do know that she is high risk, and have been through the loss of 3 single pregnancies with her. She is with a high risk doctor and they are monitoring her VERY closely. We talked about not doing anything until after the babies get here, but she decided she didn't want to sit around focused on "what if something happens", but to instead enjoy each moment of pregnancy and pray for the best. Thanks again all, and if you do think of anything special PLEASE let me know! :goodvibes

From my wonderful friends at Triplet Connection:

Three peas in a pod is always a cute theme

Triple the joy, triple the love, triple the blessings from Heaven above

I also remember someone doing an invitation with a take-off on the Visa theme--something along the lines of 10,000 diapers.........$8,000; 7500 bottles..........$5000; 3 precious bundles of joy........priceless--not sure on the math or the usage estimates--I was kinda sleep deprived during that phase. :goodvibes

I'll let you know if anyone else suggests anything different!

Just wanted to thank you all again for your input. We are going with the "Peas in a pod" theme. I made up a game that I think will be great fun. My patients, and staff helped me make a list of songs, movies, and sayings that have the word three in it (not tri or third). Then last night I madeup clues or hints for 50 of those and put them on poster board. The winner will be the 3 people that get the most of those answered. What do you think?

I also bought a bunch of dried peas and counted them. I emptied a jar of pea babyfood and put the dried peas in it. Winner will be the 3 people who get closer to the number of peas in it. :dance3:

We have a cake with three peas on it. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: I have decorations that look like 3 peas in a pod. I can't wait, I think my sister will love it.

I also wanted to let you all know that Babies R Us has some really cute peas in a pod picture frames/albums and bibs! I was so excited to find these!!!

Again thanks to you all!
