need help with space mountian

If you go on it, I have one tip. Relax. The first time I went on, I held myself rigid in the seat and fought the natural ebb and flow of the ride. I was stiff from being tense the whole two minute ride. The next time, I just let myself flop around a bit and it was great.

I think I will close my eyes though. I get dizzy just being on buzzlightyear! The flashing lights bother me more then anything. I'm afraid that is what is going to do me in on this ride. I know that it won't bother my daughter. I will make sure we do this ride at the end of the day, and I will make sure I take dramimine too.

Are the flashing lights only in the begining??

On Tour Guide Mike he has these little know facts and one is...Big Thunder Mountain goes faster then Space Mountain, but SM being in the dark makes it seem faster.
Just got back and my 7 year old rode it 4 times. She claims it is her favorite ride and she rode BTM and SM. Loved all of them as a matter of fact. I think if your daughter wants to ride it then let her. She will know if she likes it or now.
My ds who is 4 rode BTM and SM and loved them both.
just my honest opinion....

Well, if BTMRR is faster then space M. then I know she will be fine with it.
She was 6 when she did BTM, and splash, she loved them! We did splash 11 times, and BTM 2 times. So I don't have to be scared for her, just me! hehehe.

You will be fine...I love that one. It does seem tamer than BTM to me...She will love it... Have fun and ride it a few times for my DD! :earsgirl:

I succumbed to peer pressure several years ago, at the age of 51, and went on Space Mt. It had horrified me in the past. I died a thousand deaths waiting in that line. But,there was no way my friend was going to make me look like a wuss, so on I went. It wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined. It really reminds me of a 'Wild Mouse' type ride. Very quick turns, short drops, very jerky. I did ride TTA and saw the interior of SM and almost died when I saw how close everything was. I make sure my hands are inside all the time. And I agree about the seating. I wish it was the same side by side seating the SM has in DisneyLand rather than the single file. There are two 'cars' with a front, middle and back seat. So, 3 in each 'car'. I got the very front car, in the front seat, last Nov for the first time. Have to say that was a whole different experience. When I ride with dd, 11, my hands are on her shoulders, in front of me, the whole ride. She can be overheard saying..."Mooommm, get a life. Let go of me. Where do you think I'm going to go??!!" She's right..as if my feeble hands will prevent her from falling out. :earseek:
