So I found a Minnie fanny bag at a yard sale this weekend. My SIL loves Minnie and will be going with us to WDW in January for her first visit. I'd love to give it to her for Christmas but it's a fanny bag and she's a plus size gal and I know it wouldn't fit and would look funny on her. (I think it is a kids). Anyone have any ideas on how to make it current and useful? I can add a pic if that would help. TIA!

Maybe ad a small pouch to the back and long straps and make it a water bottle holder?

Applique it onto a larger bag and then merely lengthen the straps.

I like this idea but maybe to a bag she can wear over her shoulder or across her body.
I used to wear a fanny pack (only to Disney) but two years ago I found a cute cross body bag at Walmart and that is my new Disney Bag. It is black cloth and cost me about $7.

As a larger, "Pooh-shaped" woman, I can tell you that fanny packs get uncomfortable during the day if they have any weight to them at all (it pulls on your lower back) -- I'd recommend sewing the bag you found to a tote bag with shoulder straps.

Thanks guys!! Incredibly helpful! I don't know why I hadn't thought to sew/attach it to something!!
