We are leaning towards the preferred pass...I'm with some of the others, I don't think we'd save enough or get enough out of the new "god pass", Premier to justify it.

I see some people reporting they purchased their AP at a discount and I know I read somewhere that Universal Mastercard holders could purchase the AP at a 10% discount. After LONG searches and reading over the Universal site at least a hundred times I cannot find a way to do that. HELP! I can't handle paying full price for anything when there's a possibility of a discount.

some of us have talked about the discounted ap we got last year.
bealls had a promo, buy the ap and get it for 2 years instead of 1.
renew after that for $99 a year.

i checked the mc site on UO website, did not see the 10% discount for the ap.

i'll check on it again later this week and see what pops up.
promos come at all times, maybe they will have one.

maybe other UO regular posters or newbies can help out on your question.

I know I'm in the minority, but I'll put in a plug for the god pass even tho' it isn't discounted. We've only had it a couple of months now, and we feel like it is worth its weight in gold. We live close enough to go to the parks spontaneously, and we have been there a LOT all through Mardi Gras. It's great not to have to worry about the crowds. The after 4 is a problem for some people, especially if you don't like that close, but it works for us.

I feel like it has paid for itself just in terms of the valet parking!

inkkognito, I would probably go for it if we lived closer or could be spontaneous with our jobs and kids. Unfortunately we must plan our days off as a family weeks/months in advance. It's about a 9 hour drive for us so no spontaneous vacations with 3 kids, 2 of them in school and both of us shift workers (nurses). My DH would be happy with a Universal only vacaton but I have talked him into a split Disney/Universal trip this time. I just think purchasing at least one AP will help us with the discounts alone.

Can't you use one AP for up to a party of 10 for the discounts? I sure hope so, we are a party of 5 with 3 being under 10!

I thought it was good for six people per pass, but I may be mistaking that for our WDW or BG/SW AP's. I can't remember which is which, but I know we've never been questioned about how many people were in our party. even citywalk restaurants, I've always just shown one AP no matter how many people in the party.

My view on the premier pass has always been that you would know if you needed it over a standard preferred pass. While on paper it looks like it only costs $100 more its $180 more in my view. The preferred pass renews at $99 a year while there is no discount on the premier pass renewal. There are advantages that lower the price differance including the 8 bottles of water and the free HHN ticket but its not enough to overcome the cheap renewal rate of the preferred annual pass.
