Help! My little princess is going to CRTs for her 3rd b-day celebration in May. I bought her the deluxe Princess dress-up set from disneyshopping.com for Christmas -- thinking we could use those costumes for the trip. However, they are wonderful for dress-up but definitely not the real thing! You can see right through them -- I'd have to put her in something that would coordinate underneath. I'd like her to have an actual "princess" dress for this occasion.

I've seen several threads about this in the past. I love the way the MyDressUpTrunk.com dresses are described -- they really sound like they would be comfortable. Would she really look like Cinderella in that dress? Or does it just look like a blue princess dress? Do I have to buy any extra slips to make it look right? Are they really as comfy as they look? The price is definitely right! Other people seem to like Walmart's costumes. If you have anything to say about those costumes, please let me know.

I can use all the help I can get! She was Violet (Parr, um er, Incredible) for Halloween -- I don't think that will fit in at CRT. :) Also, she's convinced that she's going to marry Prince Charming -- I think Violet might scare him! My little blondie would be more appropriate as a mini version of Cinderella.

We do not have a WalMart near here, so I am not sure what their costumes look like. I will say that we have purchased
several BEAUTIFUL costumes at Target for $20 and they are absolutely precious and quite comfy according to our dd.
The best thing, I didn't care if they got ruined because they were only $20! LOL I would hate to have $60 dresses ruined!
Not that they have been ruined, thankfully, they have survived quite well and boy, oh boy, has she worn them!!! One of them,
her favorite one (yellow Belle gown) is stunning and was 'left for her' in the room upon check in as a Bday gift from
Belle and the Beast. (delivered by a sneaky mom of course!) Its her favorite and she wears it often! Best $20 we ever spent!

My DD5 has the Snow White dress from Wal Mart. It is beautiful, but pretty itchy. She would definately have to wear something under it. Great bargain for the price though. They are very well made and don't need anything to give them the "poofy" princess effect. I think hers was around $24. She wears it ALL the time and it hasn't worn out. Although I have yet to put it in the washer, I just spot clean it as neccesary. Good luck finding her the perfect dress for metting her future DH ;) .

We bought my dd4's dresses at Wal-Mart and they worked out just fine. She wore the snow white one to the PSB and the cinderella one to the CRT breakfast. They were both beautiful and stayed pouffy. They each cost 17.00. My DD insisted on wearing them all day and she did put her foot through the netting on the Snow White dress while she was climbing in the boneyard at Animal Kingdom. I wasn't reallly bothered as the cost was so minimal adn she was having so much fun. I would definitely recommend a wal-mart/target version. They look great and aren't a great loss if damaged.

My sister bought my daughter a Cinderella dress from the Grand Floridian. We also have the Cinderella costume from the Disney Store, and there is no comparison. The GF version is much thicker, not itchy, and more finely finished with embroidery. She also bought the gloves, tiara and shoes, and they are all much fancier than the other Cindy dress from the Disney Store. (The shoes are clear plastic with pale blue trim to look like glass slippers - too cute!) I'm not sure how much it cost, but I'm sure it was more than the Disney Store version. If you are looking for a beautiful dress for pictures at CRT, then she will take it off, it would be great. If you want something for her to walk around the park in, this is probably not what you had in mind. You could probably order it from the GF or from WDW Mail Order - I think I have seen it in Tinkerbell's Treasures and the shop at MGM in Animation Courtyard.

My daughter was Violet last year for Halloween too - I actually made her costume, which is so NOT like me! :)

I got my daughters Cinderella dress at Toys R Us for $25. It's not too itchy for her, but a tad big so we put white tank underneath it & it works well.

Thanks for all the replies. Anyone use MyDressUpTrunk?

I bought my niece the Rapunzel dress from MDT ... it was very nicely made and she was quite thrilled with it ... no itchies.

The skirt was pretty puffy, but I imagine that you might want to buy or make a elastic-waist half-slip to really make it stand out.
