Here is the thing....................I want to eat at Ohana's but I actually don't think dh, ds or dd will enjoy eating there :( based upon the food. They are all quite picky eaters:lovestruc I love em, but they can be picky. Now me, I'll try most anything. Ohana's is a place I wanted to try but because it being kind of a preplated thing, I can't eat all the stuff they bring out myself, LOL:lmao: How is the meat??? Hubby will be happy with meat but doesn't like it too doctored up with spices, etc. He doesn't like anything with the noodles with pineapples, etc. I'm sad:sad2: because I won't get to experience it because the choices are very limited for picky eaters. I wanted to experience the ATMOSPHERE for dh, ds and dd and of course me too. I can be perfectly fine with the food choices but concerned for my family. Is there any hope for Ohana's or should I just kiss this meal goodbye, LOL:lmao: I could maybe make ADR's for just dd and I and ds and dh could eat elsewhere. I wanted it to be a family thing on our last night. Ugh! What to do???

'Ohana doesn't publicize it but they have a complete alternative menu for kids that are picky. My DD always gets the hot dog and fries. I have seen other kids eating chicken tenders, pb&j, and mac n cheese. Just ask the server when seated what the offerings are.

I thought my 3 kids would have liked the food but they didn't and our server went back and brought them grilled cheese and hot dogs. They was no problems in getting them something different. My kids loved the entertainment there. We are going again in July.

We loved it! Went last month for our first time at Ohana and it was fantastic...I have a ton of pics and detailed reviews of the food on the link in my signature.

Have you thought about trying it for breakfast instead? It's a character meal with Lilo and Stitch. The food includes scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, and potatoes. All fairly normal and you could still try the restaurant. ;)

Already have breakfast booked there. Just wanted to try the atmosphere more for the dinner at Ohana's compared to the the character interaction for breakfast. Oh well, still not sure what we'll do. I'm just worried that with the cost of the meal, my kids and hubby wouldn't be too happy. I think I'll have to pick somewhere else. Just too iffy to try....................

My three kids have ALWAYS gotten the alternate meal. They've had cheeseburgers, macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, chicken tenders etc. They still pick and choose from the food brought to the table (mainly two will eat the salad, they'll all pick at the wings, and all will eat the dessert (LOL)). I think the kids will love the atmosphere - they do all kind of fun kids activities, hula hoops, coconut races, limbo etc.

we were just there on Wednesday night and loved it. The meat with the exception of the shrimp is not spicy at all, it is served with 3 sauces you can choose to use, or not use. THe shrimp was a little spicy. THe noodles did not have pineapple in them. They had a peanutty flavor to them, must be in a peanut sauce, we found them to be very good, our 18 month old loved them! They served fresh steamed brocolli when we were there, it had a little of a ginger type seasoning, but not strong at all, it was very fresh and yummy. The dumplings were fried, good, but not sure if your husband would be adventurous enough to eat them. If he likes wings, they were fabulous. THe salad was also great, regular salad with a honey lime dressing. The dessert was the bread pudding with banana foster sauce and ice cream. They even brought our daughter who has egg allergy her own dish of ice cream at no charge. They come back and continue to offer more meat, etc. You can ask for more of anything you want, so if your hubby loves the salad, meat and dessert, he can have as much as he wants. They never brought us the bread at the start, so I can't speak to that, but I'm not a bread fan so I didn't care. If I would have asked they would have been sure to get it. Also, we did ask about the kids offerings in case our egg allergic daughter didn't like what of the meal she could eat, they said they had pretty much any kid food except pizza. Mentioned grilled cheese, mac n cheese, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets..... I think your family can do just fine here and the kids would love the coconut race and the parade around with the lei's, etc. ENJOY!

If your kids won't like anything on the menu, and you think your husband won't, I would give it a pass. There are just so many other places you can go that will make everyone happier.

I agree. You know your family best.

You can get the kids meals, and your DH could eat the meat, but... is it still going to be an enjoyable experience for everyone? If you think yes, go for it. If you think no, or maybe not... there's lots of other restaurants.
