We're off to Florida to visit family and a trip to DW in October - family from the 14 - 16th and DW from the 16th to the 23rd. I'm shocked at the rental rates that I'm seeing :scared1:. The last couple of trips (2009 & 2008) the rate for a mini van was in the low to mid $300 range for the same amount of time and the same time of year. The best I've found so far is Budget at $497 and every one else is way over $500...most by at least $200 over.

What is every one else getting for October rates. I've gone through just about every code I could find without much success.

I'm starting to think that the only way to do a rental this year is to rent only for a week and turn in the car at one of the Disney localtions and take ME to the airport. What companies are located on Disney property and where on property are they? Has anyone tried this and seen a significant savings?

Thanks to all who replay!!

I always deal with Action car rental , I always talk to Patti who can help you get the best rate. I just checked your dates they have a minivan for $356.92. If you call her tell her Kim told you to call and maybe she can do something extra for you.

I never heard of them but like to keep an open mind if it will save me money. I just tried their web site and they are actually more expensive than Budget with all fees added. Also, how far away form the airport is this company?

As it gets closer to your travel time, the rates should drop. I usually wait for the last minutes specials to come out which is usually 2 weeks before a trip.

That theory only works if demand is lower than expected. You may find the rates increase the last few weeks if the rental company starts getting more bookings than anticpated.

The rates all come down to supply and demand.
