We are planning a trip to Disney in June with my son and are planning on using his military discount. But I am really confused about the tickets! Are the 4 day passes the only tickets available? I see Shades of Green has a Stars and Stripes ticket available but I understand this as they arent available for advance purchase unless you are staying there??
Help!!! lol

The only deeply discounted tickets are the salute tickets which are 4 day tickets. His base might sell normal tickets at a little bit of a discount (mostly tax free).

You can buy and use more than one 4-day ticket per person.

But I think there is a restriction that he can only buy 6. We have four adults going so wouldnt we need 8? And how does this work with Disneys new wristbands?

Correct you can only buy 6 and one has to be for the service member. Works like this.. When you buy the tickets on base they give you a voucher with a number. You enter that number into mde so you can schedule fast passes... If you stay onsite 60 days off site 30.. If onsite you need to put your ressie number in mde... Ok do when you get to the park the service member MUST be present and show military id.. Then are tickets are active...

And...
If you stay at a WDW resort, you can get free MagicBands.
If not, you can purchase MBs for $12.95 each.

BUT, you do not HAVE to use MBs at the parks.
You can do everything with FP+ and park entry by just using the ticket cards.

If you need more than 6 you can still discounted tickets at the exchange... But they are not as cheap as the 4 day salute ticket

Ok...so much information!! Seems so complicated compared to the last time we visited! lol I just emailed Shades of Green to see what they have to say.
So inorder to have 6 full days of park hopper we would have to buy 6 salute tickets and 2 discounted tickets...correct?

Oh and we are staying on property so we will get the magic bands. We are also doing the dining plan

Or 6 hopper discounted tickets whatever is cheaper. Prices are different at every base. And some don't carry the discounted tickets they have to order them. Shades of green are only going to give you their options since every base operates differently.

We bought our Salute tickets at a base where they had to order them. It only took maybe 5 business days to have them in hand (we had to go pick them from the base once they arrived, they weren't shipped to our home). Once we had the physical tickets, we entered them into MDE so I can make FP+ reservations. (The Salute tickets need to be activated at a ticket kiosk on WDW property.)

The SALUTE tickets for 2015 (through October 3) are as follows:

- 4 day park hopper: $177
- 4 day base ticket with water park fun & more: $177
- 4 day park hopper AND water park fun & more: $207

Prices are per person, and are the same for children and adults.
The military member OR spouse may purchase a maximum of 6 tickets, and at least one of those tickets must be used by the military member or spouse.
*blackout dates: 12/22/14-1/2/15, 3/29-4/9/15

Interesting that the flier prices are a few dollars higher than on Disneys website.
I am not sure the base we are closest to sells them. We are going to have to call Monday and see. I did read online that Camp Pendleton sells them via phone and then ships them Fed Ex. My son was medically retired last year and so he doesnt access a base regularly.

That may be because the prices listed on the flier aren't subject to tax, whereas the ones sold on Disney's website are.
