Need help with ideas!

Hi, I have been here a few months now, but more of a lurker. But I am in need of some ideas that has nothing to do with disney so hope I am posting this in the right place.
Ok here is what I need. I work with the arc which is for people with Mental Retardation and mental illness. And we are having an open house friday for their family to come and my class has to have a game to play. some games the other class are doing are : Ring Toss and Horse shoes. but need some ideas. I am just drawing a blank ,..... Thanks for all ideas. Becky

Just wanted to say hello, I use to be a PCA for a child who received services through ARC and my ex co-worker just started a job with ARC. Goodluck with your open house and I'm sure things will be great.

These are mostly pre-school games, but they are fun!

Hot potato
Musical chairs
Guess that sound (If you have a tape recorder you can get some good sounds ahead of time)
Guess what's in the box (feel and guess)
Act out a popular story
Charades

How about a little putt putt golf area?

get some heavy cardboard and have someone draw a large figure on it (animal, cartoon character, one of the staff ). color it in and cut holes in areas (mouth, hands, stomach). put some light wood framing around it (you can use wood glue) and do a bean bag toss.

it's corny, but even adults have fun with it-purchase a couple of those kid's games "chicken croquet"-it's the same as standard croquet but the mallets look like chickens and the balls like eggs (it's fun to see a grown man bending over trying to use that short mallet, and the kids love that they usualy do better than the grownups!).

how about a water balloon toss (same as an egg toss-keep getting further and further apart tossing back and forth to your partner)?. we've found that prefilling the ballons and putting them in an empty kiddie pool works great.
