We are looking into a Florida resident rate cruise on the Dream this September and see these 2 booking options. They are the same price. Is one better than the other? Can someone explain the difference to me. Thanks :)

Guaranteed Stateroom

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Navigator's Verandah
( Category 07A )
Sleeps 3 to 4 - 246 sq ft
Private Navigator's Verandah with Porthole

Restricted Room

Guaranteed Verandah Stateroom with Restrictions
( Category VGT )
Sleeps 3 to 4 - Approximately 245 sq ft
Private Verandah

Restricted seems better… if you know for sure you are sailing no matter what. You might get a navigators veranda but you could also be placed in a higher category.

The first one -- the Guaranteed category 07A will give you category 07A, or maybe higher but plan on 07A. If this is a FL Res. rate, it will follow usual PIF/cancellation/refund policies.

The Restricted rate will give you some level of verandah stateroom (could be cat. 7, could be higher). The terms of this rate are PIF at booking with no cancellations, no changes, no requests.

I'd probably do the FLR booking.

You probably won’t get a 7a with either booking. There’s not a lot of those rooms. Cat 5a deck 10 seems to be the least booked category. Probably due to price and location. I always expect to end up there. It’s the most expensive of the verandahs, but not the best location because of what could possibly be above you.

The cheapest verandah room with obstructed views seem to sell out first and then Disney will offer gty in those categories to sell more rooms at that price. I’ve booked several restricted rates and never gotten a verandah with an obstructed view.

If the price is the same, I'd do the 7A so that I could make a change if I didn't like the stateroom assigned. If the GT is significantly cheaper, I'd roll the dice and go with that.

You're also more likely to be placed in a handicapped stateroom when you're GT, and those aren't usually what non-handicapped people want.

I’d be surprised if they did that with current capacity so low.

I've been assigned handicapped twice when sailing GT since reopening, this past October and March. So it isn't about capacity.
I’m the opposite, I’ve done two GT bookings in the last year and didn’t have an HA room assigned.

On my one previous GT booking I did get an HA room.

Thanks for the input. I think I may go with the Florida rate Deluxe OV Guaranteed Cat09 or higher deck 6,7 or 8. I am working with a TA but I really dislike having to e-mail back and forth and wait for a response. Almost not worth the $50 credit because I feel like I have too many questions to ask and don't want to be a pain :(

Looking at the 9/12 Dream 4 night sailing if I were to choose that type of stateroom I only see 3 choices, 1 stateroom on each deck. Does that mean if I book today I should get one of those 3?
