OK, here are the facts- I am staying at OKW 4/30 - 5/5 followed by a value resort (unless a code comes out) 5/5 - 5/7 (of next year). I plan to buy my husband and I 10 day non expiring park hoppers to use on multiple trips (though not through Disney).

Here are the questions- Will I be able to get the dining plan for my whole stay, and what is the minimum I will have to buy (ticketwise) to get it? Can I get away with purchasing one base ticket, or even possibly a child's base ticket (our son will still be free when we go, I was thinking we could save the ticket for next time), or will I have to buy one for both my husband and I, or would it require purchasing more than one day for each of us (in which case I would probably be better off purchasing the 10 day directly from Disney)? Lastly, how much does the dining plan cost?

Thanks- I'm still pretty new to all this, got one (adult) trip under my belt!

To my understanding all members in the party have to have the same tickets. So if you and your DD both bought a one day ticket I think you'd be fine!

In order to get the dining plan you have to buy at least a one day ticket, you will need to do this for each resort. So you will have to buy 2-1 day tickets at the first resort and 2-1day tickets at the second. Since your son is under 3 he is free. The dining plan is 35.00 per person per night staying, you son again is free. The question to ask is how much is my resort, how much are the 4 tickets I have to buy? Plus the free dining. Then compare it to the resort cost, the tickets you want to buy and how much you will spend out of pocket for food. You will probably still save money doing the Free dining, unless you do not eat at any tables service places. Even then the counter service plus snack and deserts would probably run you more than 35.00 per person per day.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but I think if you want to purchase your 10 day tickets from a place other than Disney - and you want the dining plan - you would still have to buy a MYW package for each leg of your stay (so for the first package at OKW, you'd buy at least a MYW one day ticket for each adult + and the $35 per adult/per night of your 5 nights at OKW for the dining plan, and for the second leg at the value resort, an additional MYW one day ticket for each adult + the $35 per adult/per night of your 2 nights for the dining plan).

You might be better off purchasing 2 non-expiring adult MYW 10 day tickets for the first part of your package stay at OKW, then just buy the MYW one day tickets for you and your husband for your package at the value resort.

The dining plan costs $35 per adult, per night of your stay. Children under three are free, they can eat off your plate.

If anyone else has been able to split their stay without doing this, please speak up! :)

Hope you have a magical trip! :wizard:

OK, let me make sure I got this- even though I'm staying at OKW (I forgot to mention that it was on rented points, does that change things?) I will be able to purchase the dining plan if I decide to, providing I purchase at least a one day ticket for my husband and I, right? And since my stay is split they don't consider it one trip, so I will have to purchase a second set of tickets? Does anyone know for sure if I have to buy two sets in one trip? I'm just gathering all the facts before I make my decision. Thanks everyone!

Sorry - that does change what I described. If you're staying on points at OKW, then you won't be able to add the dining plan. So you could buy the 10 day MYW tickets for you and your husband, then book a package with dining and at least a one day MYW ticket for each of you for your stay at the value resort.

Thanks WDWBetsy- I guess it doesn't make sense for me to get it at all then. I was really hoping we could, but oh well, we'll survive! :flower:
