Hi. I need help deciding on a character breakfast for our departure day. Right now we have a ps at Cape May Cafe for the Goofy breakfast, but we are staying at ASMo, and they told me it will take an hour to get there... thats about 2.5 hours out of our short day just in waiting/travel times! I know the other resorts that have character breakfasts are farther away, but do they have a better transportation system that doesn't take as long? We'd rather not go to CM, only because we are having a charater dinner there upon arrival, and would like some variety. (But we will go back if it is our only way to get our last chance Disney fix! :goodvibes ) We really want to end our trip with a character experience of some sort, but we don't want to waste all of our time waiting, since we'll just be waiting all over again at the airports... So what's the best option for transportation time- 1900 Parkway, or Ohana? (or Chef Mickey's if its closest) TIA!!!

Take a taxi. I loved the Cape May Cafe... a very good buffet with good character interaction. Minnie Mouse "kidnapped my son!" When you're done, it's fun to take a stroll around the Boardwalk area.

When we did CM's and 1900 we had to take a bus from Saratoga Springs to the MK. Then we hoped the monorail for 1900. Here's something you might try but it's not a guarantee. When we were going to CM's we were the only ones on the bus and the driver asked us where we were going, we told her CM's and she called to her dispatcher and got permission to drop us off at the CR. No matter where you go for breakfast chances are you will take a bus from ASMo to a park and then hope a bus/monorail/boat to the resort where your breakfast is. If you take a bus to Epcot then a boat to CMC I couldn't imagine it taking you anhour. Getting to our PS breakfasts have never taken an hour, mainly we ran into that trying to get to dinners at night.

Good luck!
Missy

Thanks for the help. We won't be able to take a taxi, our budget is too tight. Does anyone know how much it would cost, JIC?

Another option might be to take the bus to MGM, really early. Then just walk over to BC. It's about a 15 minute walk via the pathway that runs down the canal, past Boardwalk and over the bridge to YC/BC. Then you can return to your resort by taking the boat back to MGM and taking your resort bus. It's a nice walk/boatride. BTW....we love the Goofy breakfast at BC...we do it every trip now.

I hadn't thought of that, thanks! This is our first time to WDW since we were young teens, so it is basically our first time... (I spent one day off site and went to MK, not sure what my husband did, he might remember more). I really want to do this breakfast, and now it seems like it may be possible... How long would you say it takes to get to MGM from ASMo, and then from BC to MGM to ASMo? I need to know if I should change my ps. (right now it is at 10:30, because we aren't early risers, and they told me it would take an hour to get there)

You should be able to get there in under 30 minutes.

depending on the time you go, i agree with previous post. take bus to mgm and walk to the bc resort..15 mins at a slow pace.

or take bus to epcot, and walk through to the international gateway

or take bus to epcot or mgm and hop to resort bus for bc

30 mins tops.

So do they just tell everyone to plan on an hour to get to their character meals, or does it take longer to ge to BC than other places, even if it doesn't take an hour? Thanks to everyone for the help, I'm glad to know that I can go now! Any more time savers are welcomed!!

It took me and my DF forever to get to the BC for our Character Breakfast on 3/17. We did an 9 Am PS, there were no DTD buses running that we could find, and we had already tried once taking the bus to Epcot to get there (we weren't going to the park that day and didn't have hoppers) so we ended up going from MK to BC -

I loved the resturaunt but next time all my meals will be in parks (or monorail resorts), DTD or my home resort. Resort hopping wasn't worth the effort to me even though I love the CM Cafe.

So, the Poly is a monorail resort, isn't it (remember, I've never seen anything but the inside of MK so don't laugh if I'm wrong :sunny: )? Would it be quicker to go there? It doesn't sound like I'd have a problem getting to CMC if I use one of the suggested routes, but I think I'd still like to hear some opinions... I don't want to get down there and be all excited to go, and then have to rush so we don't miss the airport bus.

Beach Club is a little harder to get to than the monorail resorts. Your best bet will be to take a bus to MGM and then walk.

The poly is on the monorail. But, I wouldn't take the monorail. I'd take a bus to the TTC and then walk to the poly.

I'd really try and squeeze out the budget for a cab. It will run $10-15. That is how we do resort to resort travel. An hour for a bus - no way, my time is worth way more than $15 an hour.

Does the $10-15 include the tip? I was expecting it to be more... When should we call the cab, and where do we call them? How long should it take to get back to ASMo by cab? Thanks!

I second this choice.

The hotel can call a a cab for you, it will be there within a few minutes. Plan on it costing about $10 plus tip. It's about a 6-7 minute drive.

Thanks, I think I'll probably do that. We will be resort hopping on our non-park day, so we'll do a dry run, and if it takes too long, we'll definately call a cab to take us back to the hotel, although we may want to walk the boardwalk... Well, at least now I know my options, thanks to everyone!
