Looking at this map http://allears.net/acc/ResortMaps/ArtofAnimationMap1.pdf Should I request:

1. Either a specific building number -- I'd be happy with either 9 or 7. Or should I say Lake view? Is building 7 the only LM section with a Lake view? I also thought Lake view would prevent a pool facing room.

2. I don't want to be on the ground floor. Should I say "upper floor", "top floor" or simply "not ground floor"?

3. I want to minimize the walking distance to Animation Hall. So I was going to request "close as possible to Animation Hall". But are the elevators in the center of the building? Or should I just leave this off, since Bldgs 9 and 7 are the closer sections to Animation Hall?

Haven't been there yet but seeing the map I would say 7 is the only LM that has lake views. That is what we requested. I would ask for "not ground floor" but higher floor should work too.

PS first post from mobile app.

Also add that elevators are indeed in the middle of the building. That's the way they are at POP and I would expect the are layed out the same.

Thanks for your help:) The elevator information is very helpful.

I was wondering if I could request lakeview in building 7.... How does that work? Do you get any kind of confirmation of your request being added? I made a request for a cabin that would require the least walking when we went to FW, and they couldn't have ignored me better- we were exactly halfway on the loop (so the LONGEST possible walk to any transportation). Thank goodness I was able to rent a golf cart last minute- or that walk would have killed my mom. Is it better to call early or closer to your arrival date? (or repeatedly?)

It looks from the map like there is an exit/entrance lakeside to the jogging trail from 7 (right at the shell if you're looking at the map). I'd like to get as close to this as possible. My 76yo mother is a smoker (UGH!) so ease of her getting to a smoking area is a priority. I assume you can go in and out these doors with your keycard? I had to do some pretty intense cajoling to convince her AOA would work this trip (FW cabins you can smoke on the porch- so she thinks we should go there and only there forever. But the 3yo will love AOA- and that trumps ease of smoking.... but still I don't want her exhausted trekking to the smoke area)

We requested Building 7 Top Floor (which as I've read is the 4th floor but I didn't want to put 4th if that turned out to be wrong).

It's just a request - but I'm hoping it works out. We're arriving on the 1st day so I'd *think* our chances are good......thoughts anyone?

and yes, you can request lakeview. We got an e-mail confirming our request - I had to look carefully to find it - it was on a regular looking reservation e-mail but towards the top it read something like 'guest req top floor building 7"

Can't wait to hear your trip report! It'll be exciting to hear from someone who actually has slept in an LM room.

I haven't called yet to add room requests to my reservation, so I'm not sure how it works.

I hope you can get something that's convenient for your mom's smoking.
