DH & I will be going in September with a group of 9. We decided that on one of our Epcot days we would try to go to LeCellier and make reservations for everyone else at Coral Reef so we could have a night out. I know LeCellier is about impossible to get so we need a 2nd choice for a nice dinner. We are on the DDP. DH & I are both severely allergic to seafood so we get scared to go to mostly seafood places (like Coral Reef). DH is a steak and potatoes kind of guy.

What is a good back up plan for a good steak in Epcot?

TIA!

Hi, I have not tried it yet but I read that Teppan Edo has an excellent FILET MIGNON on the menu. If you are willing to try Italian,Tuttu Italia has some excellent italian food. ( IMHO :)) Joan

First of all Coral Reef is not a sea food place they have a variety like all the other restaurants, and they have a great NY Strip steak that Me and DW always get. I would feel guilty nfish with all of th other live fish in the acquarium watching.
Teppen Edo would be a great place for the bunch of you to go, and I would try to get Le Cellier we have been ther 4 times out of 4 DDP weeks. If you are planing to go about 7:30 to 8 maybe the Rose and Crown that is a great spot to watch Illuminations, If you don't get outdoor seating they take you to a patio to view and that is the best spot to view Illuminations, real close to the action. Also we like Chefs de France and a nice dark meal by candle light at San Angle. You can also jump on the boat to Boardwalk and try Spoodles. All these place I just mentioned we try to get when we are there for a week on the DDP.

wow thanks for the suggestions so far! It sounds like we might be safe eating at Coral Reef as long as they know about our allergy to seafood. DH & I found out he was allergic on our honeymoon as he almost died after eating shrimp! I always get so nervous around places that serve seafood but from the looks of everything, Disney is really careful about that. From all the suggestions so far it looks like I have lots more menus to ponder! Thanks again and keep them coming!

I am totally with you there! We ate at an aquarium restaurant in Nashville near Opryland (that's where I found out I was allergic by taking one bite of an appetizer with crab in it, lol) and as I ordered my chicken entree I kept thinking...how could you eat seafood when they are swimming right by your table with those big cute fishy eyes, lol.

The best steak I've had at WDW was at Coral Reef.Oh and the potaoes YUM-O!!! My family LOVES this rest. It's a must for us. As far as you allergy just make sure it's in your ressies. The chef will come out and ask you about it and make sure nothing gets into your food that's not suppose to. We've had really good experiences w/ all the rest. and our allergies. You should be fine. Good Luck.

If you decide to go ahead and try Coral Reef, the steak is most excellent. But the chicken there was unbelievable. It was fork tender and just so delicious. I don't eat seafood but wanted to eat here so that is what we ordered. Both were very very good.
We also ate at Teppan Edo. The steak was good there too. I got the chicken and steak combo. very yummy. Though if you have an allergy to seafood I probably wouldn't eat here. It is hibachi style so everything is cooked on the grill in front of you and you are seated with different families. Unless all of you went together, then you would get your own table and no one could order the shrimp. That would work too.

If your hubby is steak and potatoes, he'd like Yachtsman Steakhouse. It's at the Yacht Club, just a short walk from Epcot via the International Gateway. The steaks are the best on property, in my opinion...obviously their specialty. Reservations there are probably easier to get than at Le Cellier. And, I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised how wonderful the food is.

Go for Le Cellier! I love the food and the staff. Always good food and very nice people. The hard part is getting ADRs. Make them as soon as you can and hope for the best.

I used the online reservation system today. You can make your request for Le Cellier and the system will look for availability 1 hr. before and after your requested reservation time. Also the system will tell you what other reservations are available within your requested timeframe at Epcot. From there you can decide which restaurant has the best steak available. Good Luck

WOW when did they get it up and running?

WOW, the booking on line is great, just on and I could have even gotten LeCellier, only one thing I'm only working 4 days a week so the economy is hurting me, and DD21 is in college w/3 more years to go for her masters, so got to miss free dining for the first time in 4 years.
