I'm hoping you guys can give me your opinions. My wedding is next weekend and I've booked a limo from the reception site where we're having our pictures to the ceremony site and back (with a stop between the church and reception!). Not a problem there, except the limo holds no more than 10 people. We have exactly 10 people in the bridal party. Anyway, my DF gets a call from one of his groomsmen today saying the GMs wife might be able to come now. We don't have room for her in the limo. Do I ask her to provide her own transportation or do I cancel the limo and ask everyone to provide their own transportation? :confused3 The GM and his wife are both from out of town, but will be driving in. Both people from the other couples are in the wedding party. A limo bigger than 10 ppl is beyond my budget. Sorry for the long post, but please help! Thanks!

What does your DF think? Because its his groomsman I would say to just let him deal with it and if people aren't happy about the decision - the weights on him. I bet that you already have enough to worry about.

I don't think its worth cancelling the limo over. Is there any chance that you guys could squish in? If not then maybe see if a friend can pick her up and drive her? I guess it all depends on how well you know her. If you don't know her well I guess it would be less awkward.

Hopefully someone with better advice comes along soon.

I will say this...a limo that says it holds 10 will BARELY hold 10. It is indeed a tight squeeze, so I hope your dress is not too voluminous.

There is a good chance that even if you could squeeze 11, the driver will not permit it. There are significant problems for the driver and company if he transports more than his vehicle can legally hold.

If I were you, I'd express happiness that the wife can now come, but explain that she'll need to provide her own transportation as arrangements have already been made for 10. No need to make accommodations for her at this late stage.

Whenever I've been in a wedding where DH isn't in the bridal party DH takes care of his own transportation (and same for me when he's in a wedding and I'm not). IMHO, you don't need to include this guy's wife in the limo if she's not in the Bridal Party. Plus, it sounds like you're doing pictures at a separate site so if she's in the limo she'd have to tag along and hang out for the pictures, right? I had this situation once--DH was a groomsman and the bridal party went to a park to take pictures between the ceremony and the reception. I went back and hung out in our hotel room (which was also where the reception was). To me this was better than hanging around the photo session that I wasn't part of!:goodvibes

ditto. I have never gone with DF (or vice versa) and I don't think it's rude to let them know that she will be on her own... Also I agree with above posted about limo size. We rented a 14 person limo for a night out (we had 11 people so they said we wouldn't be able to do a 10 person) and it was tight... very tight and we were only in jeans and tops:confused3

Thanks, guys! I appreciate your thoughts. My stress levels are not being helped by the fact that my DF is out of town for work this week!! I'm so glad you guys are here!
I think I'm going to keep the limo and let our groomsman's wife drive herself. LittleStickerbell, you had a great point about her sitting around while we take the pictures! I hadn't thought about that!.
Fortunately, my dress isn't too poufy and my girls dresses aren't poufy at all! I hope we'll fit! If not, I'll post some pics of our clown-car limo after the wedding!
