I was reviewing the point charts (a favorite past-time of mine) and have some questions about the various room categories listed for Disney Collection Hotels. Hopefully some of you have tried them and know the answers. First, what does the Concierge level mean in practical terms at GF, Poly, BC/YC and AKL? Second, what is the difference between the many room categories listed for the AKL? The choices are Water/pool, Savannah, Deluxe water/pool, Deluxe Savannah and Concierge. What do the "Deluxe" versions of the water/pool or savannah mean? Thanks for any insight or experiences you can relate.

This is the first year they've broken out categories for the hotels. Concierge means you have a lounge in your section of the hotel that offers snacks and beverages throughout the day. The Concierge will also assist in making any plans/PS etc. that you may require. At the GF only concierge rooms and suites are located in the main building. There is a second concierge area in one of the other buildings. I'm unclear which concierge we will be given on points. For the point price being charged I certainly hope it's the Royal Palm (main building) concierge but I haven't seen any confirmation that is the case.

The different views at the AKL are priced differently. In addition, Deluxe rooms are slightly larger than regular version of the rooms. Savannah view rooms are the best for seeing the animals.

If you want details about the different resorts, you can always go to www.disneyworld.com under the resort section and see the descriptions of the different resorts and room types.

Thanks for the info. I also found out one other item, that at least some of the deluxe size rooms hold 5 people. They have either two queen beds and a sofa bed or a queen bed, bunk beds and a sofa bed, just in case anyone needed to know!
