Need help understanding PhotoPass

Okay I've read that you have to buy in advance. But when I go to the site and look into it they say....You have not photo's in your account enter a PP number.

Well how can you buy in advance?
How advanced should you buy a PP

ETA: I didn't buy mine until last week for a trip next week. Unless there are some rumors about them getting rid of the preorder program, I wouldn't order until closer to the last minute.

Here is another tip. When you get home with your photo pass remember to edit your pictures and save them as a COPY. For example the photo pass person took a picture of my whole family with donald duck. I then took that picture and zoomed in so it was just my kids with donald and saved as a copy, then I went back to the original and saved a copy of donald with each of my kids. Then I used the same picture and added different boarders. I had 200 and some pictures when I started and now I have over 600 pictures.
