We are planning a trip for December and can't decide where to stay.

We were thinking about going in September if they have free dining again, but I really want to go for the Christmas season and dh has 3 weeks off in December.

We stayed at the POR last September and really liked it. Our family techinically would still be able to stay there in December, but we were thinking of maybe the All Star Suite for more room.

It will be myself, dh and 4 dks 5 and under so more room may be better.

Has anyone stayed there? How was it?

We were going to stay away from the AS resorts because we have heard that they can be pretty busy/noisy and the pool crowded. But we don't really have to worry about the pool if we go in Dec.

Other options we have been considering are a FW cabin or OKW 2 bedroom suite and renting points.

Any input greatly appreciated.

It really depends on your plans while there - we are going for Christmas for 10 days with another family of four and sharing a 2 bedroom at Old Key West (our favourite place) - it's very laid back and quiet, and the space is amazing. We always stock up on groceries and only eat out once for a treat. We're planning on cooking Christmas dinner in our full kitchen. There's plenty of room to spread out, a master suite to get away from the children and a laundry room so I don't have to pack as many clothes. Check out www.dvcfriends.com to see room layouts.
The ASM suites would be fine, but I don't know how many they have and if you would be able to get one for Christmas time.
Either way, Christmas there is amazing (we went in 1999), and I can't wait to spend our holiday there.
Good luck, and have a great time!
