Ok I currently have 2 standard view studios for the second week of September 2007. I just got back from a trip to SSR in december and LOVED going in December the weather is much better and the decorations are beautiful. Being in a studio with 2 kids me and hubby was crowded after a few days so what we want to do is get a 2BR at Key west for the first week in December this year. The help I need is do you think I can get a 2BR at Key west at the 7th month mark? I know I should book a 2 BR SV at boardwalk for back-up but I really do not want to stay there and that would me require me to borrow more points than would be needed at Key West. The reason I do not want to stay at BW is that after I bought into it I realized that it is not my style I like the quieter laid back resorts it is beautiful and fun but not what I want for my trip. So what would you do? Wait until the 7 month ar have a back up? Thanks for any info sorry this is long!:headache:

Personally, I wouldn't be comfortable planning on a trip during a busy DVC season like early December and having no reservation before the 7 month mark.

However, I understand your concern about borrowing points that you wouldn't need. Maybe your "back up" reservation at BWV should be for less days that wouldn't require as many points as the planned OKW reservation? At least that way, you would have something in the case OKW falls through.

Having said all that, I think your chances of getting something at OKW or SSR (both laid back, IMHO) at 7 months are good, especially if you're willing to use the waitlist if necessary.

Well what I decided to do is get the 2 SV studios for december and switch out at the 7 month mark for the 2 BR at OKW. That way I didnt borrow more points than I need:confused3 but I still have a ressie if I cant get one. ( I have no idea why I didnt think of this earlier??)
