Need help planning my first trip to Disneyland

Hey gang: I really need the help of my fellow Disney fans. I'm going to Disneyland for the first time ever!!! I want to make an itinerary for the trip, making sure to allot time for my best friend & I to rest and swim in the most excellent pool at the Disneyland Hotel where we are staying. We're arriving on a Thursday, late morning and leaving Sunday for the Mexician cruise. How should I plan my Disneyland trip? Thanks so much!!!! Happy MIckey and God bless!!

I would suggest reading HydroGuy's tips...these are a sticky thread that are at the top of the disneyland board. Also, perhaps invest in ridemax (ridemax.com). I am using it for our trip in August and so far it seems awesome. Can't wait to put it to actual use!

Beside all that...

Just plan to get to the parks before they open...that will allow you to do a lot before the major crowds come in. Gather fastpasses along the way. And have a blast!!

There are some travel books out there you can use. I love using The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland, which will basically cover all your bases. There's also the Everything Book of Disneyland, or something like that, which I've never used, but I'd imagine it covers mostly everything as well, as the title implies. If you have any questions you can't find answers to from the guide books, your resident Disneyland experts reside here on this board and are on hand to answer anything you need to ask!

If you're staying at the DLH, you can use the Magic Mornings on Saturday and Sunday to have one extra hour (early) in the parks - this is the BEST time for rides like Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Teacups, Buzz, etc. No line ups!!!
