Need help planning for 2009...

OK I know I am early but I need some advice from the experts. I want to get a GV at OKW for the fall of 2009. I only can book at 7 months because I do not own there. We want to go any 4 day weekday in October or November. We are very flexible with our dates so I do not know what week to try for or to call every week until there are 4 days available. Pick a week and waitlist... What would be the best way to do this. Thanks!

The best way would be to find someone to "exchange" points with you. That way, you can search for an OKW owner who has the points available to book at the 11 month window, and you book with your points at your home resort for them. That may be the only way to insure getting a GV at OKW during that time frame.

We had no problem getting a GV at 7 months during mid September. I know for a fact that there were even an empty GV beause they put our luggage in the wrong room and no one knew it. I think as soon as you go into October it will be more difficult because of F&W, espcially weekends.

Maybe I should go the last week of September... I was just trying to avoid free dining and the heat!

I would look at your dates and call day-by-day starting with the very first acceptable 4-day chunk. If the GV is available, then ask MS to look forward to see if it is booked for the rest of your days. They should be able to tell you that. If it's available, call the next 3 days and add on to your reservation. If it's not available, put yourself on the waitlist and start over with the next first day.

I don't know how many waitlists you can have going at once and if you can arrange to have all the others canceled if one comes through.
