Hi all

I am in the process of planning a BIG Vacation for all of my family including in-laws. I am used to planning vacations for myself my husband and my daughter because we just got back form ours. I am still suffereing from the blues :guilty: of course.

My question is how do I go about planning it. I wanted to use an agent but I am afraid to because I wont be able to chek my ressies without them. I dont like that at all. I guess you might call me a control freck. Unless there are some agenta out there who understand this and can work with me onthis.

THe trip is planned for June 2006 the first 4 nighter of the month. and then we wanted to go to Disney World after that for 3 additional nights. Also we woud like to arrive the day b4 our cruise leaves.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know.!!

If you want to save some money, make the ressies yourself. We always do. Try renting some points from a DVC member, assuming your not one, and get a villa.

You can now check your DCL reservations on the DCL site even if you book with a TA. There are alot of great TA's out there that specialize in Disney that can make your planning so much easier. Check out Dreams Unlimited, Small World Vacations, The Mouse for Less, All Seas Travel, Midcan. There are others too that I'm not thinking of ... check out the other threads about TAs. Good luck and happy planning!

I'll tell you right off that I am biased (because I am a Travel Agent) but I would recommend you use a travel agent. I understand about the control thing (and any good agent would be able to work with you so you are comfortable). But when you are booking for a lot of people it's good to have someone else worrying about all the small details and following up with people for you. You didn't mention how big the group is but I've run into a lot of family groups where the lead person thought it would be fun to organize and as time goes by their energy is sapped because they are constantly answering everyone's questions. If you have a travel agent, they would take some of the pressure off by being the answer person for you. Also if you are the lead in booking everything, that position follows you on the trip and you'll probably end up playing cruise director for the whole group (which may or may not be fun for you).
