We haven't been to WDW since October '98. So sad, isn't it? :)

I've been toying with a short trip this October. My dh has vacation the week of 10/13. We would like to stay in a delux if possible...we have an 18 month old son and will spend a lot of time in the room, and it would be nice to use the balcony once he's asleep. Dh prefers the Epcot area, although will consider others if we could only get a good rate.

Any tips on getting that good rate? Seems like October is now regular season...used to be value season back when we went 3 years running. I feel like a total newbie right now. I've checked Mousesavers but no luck finding anything for that time. We're NY residents.

Any tips? Ideas? Advice?

TIA!

Have you considered renting DVC points? This would be an option whether you chose an Epcot resort or not. I am a BWV fan, but am looking forward to trying BCV in October. WLV would be a nice choice as well. And since you mentioned you'd be in the room a lot with the baby, the extra room (and kitchen or kitchenette) would be a big plus, I would assume.

Whatever you choose, I hope you are able to make the trip happen. October has been a wonderful time of year for the past 2 years that we've visited.

Good luck!

The poly would be my choice if we were staying in the room alot. The atmosphere there is just so nice. I always feel like we are really away from it all. The monorail makes it very convenient and you can walk to the TTC to get the monorail to epcot.

We loved the AKL and you wouldn't have to stay in the room. There are quite a few nooks and crannies to sit, relax and view the lobby. When we visited the WL we saw many similar areas to sit and relax. The poly had some great areas to sit outside as well.

I would think if you chose any deluxe you'd be happy but those 3 would be my 1st choices.
