Is there a place on this site or any other site where i can find info on how long it takes to get from one place to another and by what transportation? Its hard planning things when i dont know how long it takes to get there and if i have to catch 3 buses and a boat to do it. thanks

The best thing to do is post some specific questions here and let folks give you suggestions on the best transport options.

There is a Transport Wizard at ourlaughingplace.com that can help get you started; but beware of trusting the answers you get completely because there is outdated and wrong information in there.

The only real time you would need to take more than one bus/boat to go from point A to B is if you are trying to get to a park from DTD or from resort to resort say for an ADR. Other than that you can get a bus/monorail/boat to get from park to park (unless going to MK from DHS or AK) and then you would need to go to TTC) or park to resort and resort to park.

As mentioned, any specifics as we can try to help.

Well, i kinda wanted to do Wilderness Lodge for breakfast or lunch, which is the closest park to hop over from. Im staying at Shades of Green. Thanks

Oh i just went to our laughing place, what a wonderful tool! Too bad its not accurate :( Is that the only site like that?

The best park to use to get to WL from SOG will be the MK. From the MK, you can take a boat directly to WL and FW. I'm not entirely sure how the SOG buses work or where they drop off at the MK (it may be the TTC), so someone else will need to weigh in on that.

Another option from SOG is to walk to the Poly or TTC, then get into the Disney transport network from there.

So if i was in MK for the day i could just take a boat over for lunch and come back again? Is it a long boat ride? That sounds reasonable thanks. What about from HS, is wilderness lodge easy to get to from there?

MK to WL is easy by boat or bus. Allow 45 mins to an hour from your reservation time, to factor in waiting for a boat or bus and you will be fine. The trip itself only takes 10 minutes, but if you just missed the boat you could be waiting for 20 minutes. Same with the bus.

DHS to WL would have to be by bus and I would leave minimally an hour because it's a longer trip.

Thanks, i think ill paln it around my MK day then. I guess when you go to the park they give you a map of all the transportation routes? Is that map posted anywhere?

Unfortunately, there's not a map of the transportation routes that I'm aware of. From MK to WL, you'll walk out the MK gate and the boat dock will be almost directly in front of you. I usually look to see if there's a boat just arriving on on the way in. Otherwise, take a left and head over to the bus area. There will be a big sign that gives you the stop number for each resort.

If heading to GF, Polynesian, CR or WL, it's best to head to MK first and then, depending on which resort you're going to, walk, monorail or boat to the resort. You can also take a bus to WL from MK but you do have to get to TTC first.
If you are trying to get to the Epcot resorts (S/D, YC/BC, BW) you can head to DHS and then either walk or boat, without having to enter the park. The walk is about 20 mins, the boatride itself is 25 mins from DHS to Epcot, but there can also be some waittime for that as well. Or you can walk or boat from Epcot, but you do need park passes for that.

Want to eat at AKL?? Head to AK and transfer to a bus to AKL there. Or head to just about any park and take the AKL bus...all depends on the time of day and what parks are open.

The moderates and value resorts are a bit tougher to get to and from other resorts. You can take a bus from a park to those resorts. But if you're at another resort, you have to head to either DTD or to a park and then transfer to the resort you want to go to.

It's a good idea to leave at least an hour for travel time...especially resort to resort.

I didn't understand this part - the WL bus goes direct to the MK, from what I understand - no stops at the TTC.

I think they used the "Transport Wizard" and is referring to one of those outdated routes.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge Magic Kingdom® Park : 8 mins.
Disney's Wilderness Lodge Magic Kingdom® Park : 13 mins.
Disney's Wilderness Lodge Transportation & Ticket Center Magic Kingdom® Park : 36 mins.

But the 8 minutes from WL to MK by bus is about right. I sent them the information, and they thanked me and added it within a very short time. I guess they just didn't remove the TTC instruction.

I think I sent them one other change which they made promptly, but I can't remember what it was now.

Is there not a bus from WL to the TTC at all? I'm wondering because I've never done it or looked for it. I understand that it wouldn't be the best way to get to MK, but if you can, in fact, get to TTC from WL on a bus, I guess it's one way to do it.

Duh!!! And that's what happens when I get distracted and lose my train of thought. You are correct...the WL bus goes to MK...the same as the other resort buses. Thanks for catching that one.
