In the past, I have noticed not everything (attractions) opens up at the start of the day. There some that open about 10:00am am or so. I need a little help with this.

We are not going on EMH. We will arrive @ 8:45am. Will they let us into the park or do you wait outside the gate till 9:00am?

We are 2 Adults w/ D3 and S1-1/2 going in Early March.

Our main attraction to cover is Playhouse Disney but I have not seen it open at opening. It usually opens at 10am. So what do I do first?
We have ADR at the 50's Primetime Cafe for 11:55am.
We plan to watch the 3:30pm parade and then catch a bus for MK.
Character interaction important!
These are the attractions we wish to cover:
  • Muppet Vision 3D (22 Min Continous Shows)
  • Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playground
  • Magic of Disney Animation (To Meet Chicken Little) (15 Min Continous)
  • Playhouse Disney-Live on Stage! (22 Min-Show Times)
  • Voyage of the Little Mermaid (15 Min-Show Times)
  • Meet Characters @ Mickey Avenue (JoJo & Goliath, Sorcerer Mickey)
  • Meet Character @ Sorcerer Hat
We may do these rides depending on time:
  • Backlot Tour (35 Min-Tour Times)
  • Lights, Motors, Action! Stunt Show (33 Min-Show Times)
  • Beauty and the Beast (30 Min-Show Times)
  • The Great Movie Ride (22 Min Continious Rides)
(B&B and TGMR, we did this past Oct so it isn't a must. But I worry that BT and LMA may be too loud for my little ones)

How should my day break out?
What should my plan of attack be w/ my limited time?
What order should I see the attarctions.
Do you think I can cover it all or should I eliminate some attractions?

Thanks for your help.

Hi LeeAnn, I don't really have any good information for you on this, but I felt bad that no one has responded yet, so I thought I would at least let you know I read your post! :guilty:

You might try Tourguide Mike or the Unofficial Guide, though. I can usually find the info I need between the two! Good luck!

Hi LeeAnn, I started writing up a possible plan for you, but am afriad of leading you astray!

The complexities involve:

where are fastpasses available
when are the specific showtimes
what is available right at opening
what can be fit into two separate 2.5+ hour blocks (9-11:50 and 1 to 3:30)

If I were doing it, I would get in and wait in the street until they release you at 9am (they let you in the park earlier, but hold you until actual opening). Up front, you can see Mickey and the crew opening the park with a big welcome...go straight to character meets at the sorcerers hat, since that is important.

From there, it seems you might be better off going clockwise around the park (heading first towards Muppets 3D) and circling back down Mickey Avenue to hit Honey I Shrunk Playground, Animation, and the characters. Depending on time, you might squeeze in Mermaid, or I can't remember, it may have a fastpass. Check time on lunch.

After lunch, hit the rest of your must dos, but check the time for Beauty & the Beast on the Board or the MGM flier. From your wish list, it looks like you should hit this last, for enough time to get back up the road to catch the parade passing by, then follow the parade out to hit your 3:30 deadline.

Sorry if this is not specific enough. Showtimes, fastpasses, crowds, and the VERY tough job of keeping DD/DS happy are large variables.

Remember the one thing I ALWAYS forget...don't push so hard that you forget to have a fun, family filled time!

The Stars and Motor Cars parade at MGM is at 5:30, not 3:30. Just so ya know... :smickey:

Quickly I came up with....

The Great Movie Ride (I think this is the only attraction that will be open at park opening)
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Playhouse Disney
Magic of Disney Animation (if you want to just see the characters and skip the tour, go through the Animation Gallery shop and you should find them)
Muppetvision
Lunch
Beauty & the Beast
Characters on Mickey Ave
Honey, I shrunk the kids playground
Lights Motors Action
Backlot Tour
Hat characters

The morning I think is sound, the attractions in the Animation Courtyard (Mermaid, Playhouse & Magic) all have different first showings at different times, so you may have to swap one for the other. I'd use this is a general guideline. GMR is the only attraction that will be open at 9 (they let you into the park up to Sunset Blvd at 8:45 then make you wait there until 9) so that's got to be the first one to do. Also, it's hard to guage how much time you'll spend with characters so I tried to get your morning done and after that gave a crap-shoot of a guess of what to expect. Use the Backlot Tour, Honey I shrunk the Kids and characters as stop-gaps between scheduled shows. Any questions? : :goodvibes
